I caught a couple martial arts films at the Bev this evening.  The second film "The Chinese Mack" was wild.  It had crazy twists and turns and when it ended it really was a big "what the hell did we just see" moment in the theater.  It was a real crowd pleaser.  This is something I saw today.

Day 3742 - "Grave Of The Vampire" and "The Swinging Barmaids" at The New Beverly - 08.18.21

For the third night of the William Smith tribute we made a night of it.  Before the film my wife, son and daughter-in-law went to El Coyote before hand for dinner.  Then we hopped over to the Bev for a couple really fun flicks.  "Grave Of The Vampire" was good, but for me "The Swinging Barmaids" was really a great surprise.  I thought it worked really well and was put together far better than I thought it would be.  The print we watched had the hilarious title "Eager Beavers."  Tomorrow night it the last night of the tribute fest, but we aren't going to that night.  They are showing "Rumble Fish" and "Any Which Way You Can." I kind of wish I was going to that, but to be honest after four nights in a row at the Bev I am exhausted.  This is something I saw today.

Day 3741 - "Black Samson", "Hammer" & "Sweet Jesus, Preacherman" Triple Feature - 08.17.21

My wife joined me for the William Smith triple blaxploitation feature tonight.  And boy what a night it was.  I really liked all the films, but the night ended up being very long because one of the projectors broke and so for each reel change there was about a 5 minute break.  All those breaks add up and we didn't get out until after 1:30 AM.  This is something I saw today.

This evening my wife and I went to the Bev to watch "Slumber Party Massacre" and "The Clan Of The Cave Bear"  This kicked off a Micheal Chapman tribute this week.  "Slumber Party Massacre" was super fun.  "Clan Of The Cave Bear" was a bit more challenging and to be honest I was getting really sleepy toward the end.  Still, it looked great and I am so glad I could see both films on the big screen.  This is something I saw today.
