Day 1926 - Batman Year One - 08.30.16
Today I just looked for something off of my bookshelf to photograph I chose this edition of Batman Year One. I wasn't expecting to get a very interesting photo at first. Honestly I was just trying to knock something out before work. However I like the shadows and I like my angle and I like the scale in the frame. I think it all comes together like the book is hiding in the shadows. And Batman's pose on the cover works for me as well. To me it is sort of a testament to this whole endeavor of just shooting something every day, because eventually you get something interesting almost by accident. This is something I saw today.

Day 1925 - INXS "Shabooh Shoobah" - 08.29.16
I love this INXS record. There are times when I listen to "Don't Change" over and over. Great track. I love the way it builds in the opening. This is something I saw today.

Day 1924 - Never So Few - 08.28.16
Today I watched Never So Few which is part of a Steve McQueen box set that I picked up at a thrift store at some point. As you may gather from the case the film is really a Frank Sinatra vehicle with Steve McQueen in a supporting role. It was an okay flick. A little too much non-war stuff with Gina Lollobrigida in my opinion. The scenes with the soldiers were good. This is something I saw today.

Day 1923 - Jack Skellington and Chair - 08.27.16
This is nothing new as far as a subject goes. I have photographed both this pillow and chair before. Still, this is something I saw today.

Day 1919 - Trailer Apocalypse Redux - 08.23.16
This evening I went to Trailer Apocalypse Redux at the New Beverly. It was 90 minutes of crazy trailers and then a surprise screening or one of the movies. That secret movie was a gem called Invasion of The Blood Farmers. It was a shoestring budget film that was sort of in that hicksploitation genre mixed with horror and kind or sci-fi. It was fun. You can check the trailer out on youtube here. This was something I saw today.

Today we attended a Bat Mitzvah for this young lady. I thought the ceremony was quite beautiful. In the evening the family had everyone over for the end of Shabbat. I took some photos of the family during the Havdalah ceremony to help remember this important day. This is something I saw today.

Day 1915 - Roy Acuff "Wabash Cannonball" - 08.19.16
This Roy Acuff record actually isn't a record from last week's yard sale haul. I have had this for a long while. I can't really remember when I bought it, but it has been a few years. This is something I saw today.

Day 1914 - Hank Williams' Greatest Hits - 08.18.16

Day 1913 - Santa Candy Cane Holder - 08.17.16
This candy cane holder is another item I picked up at a yard sale this past weekend. My daughter and I thought it was cute and they only wanted a buck. So now it is out as our first Christmas decoration out for the season. Yes, I know it is early. This is something I saw today.

Day 1908 - Big Brother And The Holding Company "Cheap Thrills" - 08.12.16
This week I watched a great documentary on Janis Joplin called "Little Girl Blue" so Janis has been on my mind this week. I've wanted to crack out "Cheap Thrills" for several days now. Today was a really weird and depressing day at work and so the first thing I did when I got home was put on this album. I thought the blues and Janis's voice would be a soothing balm. It was. I followed this up by watching "Frankenstein Meets The Wolfman." This is something I saw today.

Day 1907 - Darth Vader Toaster - 08.11.16

Day 1904 - Fearless Vampire Killers & The Wrecking Crew - 08.08.16
This evening I went to the cinema for a Sharon Tate double feature. The night was amazing. The evening started with a hilarious Looney Toons short "Hyde and Go Tweet" with Sylvester and Tweety. Then we have "Fearless Vampire Killers" which is a movie I love. I have seen it many times, but never on the big screen with an audience. It was a whole new experience and the audience was great. Lots of laughs. And the print was beautiful. Then between the films Quentin got up and introduced "The Wrecking Crew." It is always great to hear him talk about films because he's so passionate. Then he teased the audience by saying that they had a surprise screening of something after the film if anyone wanted to stick around. Well of course everyone did. So The Wrecking Crew was fun and silly. The use of Dino's songs was clever and funny. After the film there was a short break and after five minutes or so the lights went out. Then to my giddy surprise the Batman TV show logo came up. The crowd erupted. We were then treated to a 35 mm print of "The Bat's Kow Tow." The episode had everything. Julie Newmar as Catwoman. Catwoman stealing the voices of Chad and Jeremy. Cameos by Steve Allen and Don Ho. And lastly a near kiss between Batman and Catwoman. It was glorious and a very long night at the cinema. This photo was taken in the morning on the way to work. This is something I saw today.

Day 1903 - The Cars - 08.07.16
This
evening my wife and I chopped up a bunch of vegetables to roast not
only for our dinner tonight, but for lunches the rest of the week. How
much chopping was there? Well, it was enough to last 8 out of the 9
songs on The Cars first album, which we listened to while chopping.
This first record from The Cars is something I saw today.

Day 1902 - Chili John's Wall - 08.06.16

my scale was kind to me. I've been on a bit of a diet in recent weeks
and I must say I am proud of my progress. Anyway, as a bit of a treat
my wife and I went to Chili John's for lunch today. Yummy. This is
something I saw today.

Day 1900 - The Killing Joke - 08.04.16
Yesterday I bought "The Killing Joke" I got it through Amazon Prime's same day shipping. I started watching last night when I got home from work, but I was so tired I only got about 20 minutes in before starting to fall asleep. Some may say that is a reflection of the movie, but I think a big factor has been my late nights. So while I have heard many people complaining about the first half of the movie because it isn't The Killing Joke, I am being more positive and say that my sleepiness was not caused by that. This was something I saw today.

Day 1898 - Bloodfist Double Feature - 08.02.16
Today I was so excited to see the Bloodfist double feature at the New Beverly this evening. Don "The Dragon" Wilson was even there in person for a little Q & A. Unfortunately my late night Monday night caught up with me and I was so tired during the first Bloodfist that after the funny and entertaining Q & A with "The Dragon" I opted to miss Bloodfist II. I was falling asleep and I figured seeing the second one would simply be a mistake. So I left after the Q & A and snapped this photo from across the street. This is something I saw today.

Day 1897 - Keyboard Player - 08.01.16
This evening my daughter and I went and saw Allen Stone perform at the Troubadour. We we had a great time. We were on the right of the stage near the keyboard player where I was able to snap this photo with my phone. This is something I saw today.
