More hanging out at Nutcracker rehearsals today.  This is one of my daughter's friends standing in as a mouse getting shot by the soldiers.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1608 - Scary Face - 10.17.15

We had some relatives stay with us last night.  This morning this little one ate a bagel with cream cheese, which you can still see on her face.  She made a scary face for my camera.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1605 - Los Angeles Sunrise From Mulholland Drive - 10.14.15

It has been sunrises every day for me this week.  Today I left my house before dawn so I could be up on Mulholland Drive for sunrise.  This is a view looking down onto Los Angeles.  It was spectacular.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1604 - L.A. River at Dawn - 10.13.15

This morning before heading into work I drove down to the L.A. River and took some photos.  It was calm, peaceful and very warm.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1603 - Apartment Building At Dawn - 10.12.15

This morning was more experiments with the new lens.  This time with the sunrise and the apartment building across the street.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1602 - Mouse Queen Entrance - 10.11.15

I went to Nutcracker rehearsals today and took some photos.  This is the mouse queen entrance onto stage.  I love the way my new lens makes the dancer's leg look really long.  This is something I saw today.

I bought this box of cereal today for my cereal box collection as well as something to put out at Halloween.  Not sure if I'd like my milk turning green.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1598 - Telescopes - 10.07.15

I left the house early this morning and drove up the the Griffith Park Observatory to take some photos at sunrise with the new lens.  These are some of the telescopes around the backside to look at LA.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1597 - Cugat In Spain - 10.06.15

Wow 1600 days I have been posting pictures.  It is hard to believe.

I have a few Xavier Cugat records.  All of them are good.  One of the things I like about this record jacket is the "Miracle Surface" label in the lower left side.  It makes me laugh when I read the claims record companies would make about new and better record technology.  This one claims to have an anti static ingredient.  The record industry never changes always trying to sell the next new technology for listening to music.  In the end records still collect dust with or without static.  I don't mind.  It doesn't take away from my enjoyment.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1596 - Teddy Bear - 10.05.15

This is a Teddy Bear I had as a kid and it now sits on top of my wife's piano.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1595 - New Ghoul - 10.04.15

This morning the family and I went to Disneyland for a few hours.  Mostly we went to see the Halloween decorations and to go in the Haunted Mansion.  This is a shot of the new ghoul that was added a couple months back.  This is something I saw today.

This evening I digitized a bunch of Christmas songs from albums for my Christmas mix this year.  However I ended the day by listening to the Streets Of Fire soundtrack.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1587 - Wide Angle Nate - 09.26.15

I bought a new camera lens today.  As you can see from this photo it is a wide angle lens.  I did some playing around with it this evening to see what it could do.  This is my son and I really like the way this looks.  The lens is really clear and fast.  This is something I saw today.

Tonight was another night at the high school football game to watch my daughter dance.  This is the gate to Memorial Field at John Burroughs High School.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1585 - Joe Jackson "I'm The Man" - 09.24.15

Hands down my favorite Joe Jackson record.  So many good tracks on this record.  I am particularly fond of the title track "I'm The Man" because there is a line it about skateboards.  This is something I saw today.

I pulled this Hüsker Dü record off the shelf this morning for a photo.  I actually like the way the album colors play against the color of the couch cover.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1578 - The Hobbit - 09.17.15

I found this at the goodwill this week.  When I got home I popped it in and started watching with my wife.  We love this movie and especially we love the music.  We both agreed that it would have been amazing if the Peter Jackson version included the songs and musical numbers from the animated version.  It has been a few years since I had seen it and what really struck me was the quick pace at which the story is told.  After watching the long, long, long Peter Jackson interpretations it is kind of refreshing to watch such quick storytelling.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1577 - Iron Maiden "Two Minutes To Midnight" - 09.16.15

This other day I saw this young girl pass me on the street wearing an Iron Maiden shirt.  Something struck me about it.  I'm not sure If I was reacting to this young girls wearing a shirt for something that was from long before she was born or if I was reacting to the longevity of the band.  It isn't like Iron Maiden is on the charts and burning up the internet with videos, so I find it amazing that they are still attracting fans and young women to boot.  Well, that was on my mind this morning when I thought I needed to take a photo, so I pulled this record off the shelf.  I've had this record since I was in 7th or 8th grade.  This is something I saw today.

My family and I have been listening to the Undisclosed podcast recently.  Like many we were fans of Serial and in some respects I think Undisclosed is even better.  I love all the details and the depths to which they go on their research.  This evening we were listening on my phone.  This is something I saw today.
