Day 2534 - Last Dance - 04.29.18

Today was the two shows from RC Dance Center.  The last dance of the evening was the three senior girls, my daughter and her two friends.  This is them at the end of their dance.  They are all in tears.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2526 - Purple Hands - 04.21.18

My daughter's dance studio RC Dance is closing down this weekend.  Last night a bunch of the girls did a sleepover at the studio.  It was something that they had always talked about doing and so they finally did it.  One of the things they did was put their hand prints on the wall.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2384 - Arabian - 11.30.17

Today was the Nutcracker performance for the school kids.  This is a shot from the Arabian dance.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2383 - Nutcracker Dress Rehearsal - 11.29.17

Today was the dress rehearsal for Nutcracker.  My daughter was Dew Drop as well as a maid and a snow fairy this year.  This is something I saw today.

Today was day two of Nutcracker Auditions.  This is my wife taking a young dancer's measurements.  This is something I saw today.

Day one of Nutcracker auditions were today.  Here we go again.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2212 - Surprise Dance - 06.11.17

My daughter has a friend who is a year older and tonight was her last dance show with the studio.  She will be off to college next year.  My daughter and her friends planned a surprise dance for her.  They dragged her onto the stage sat her in a chair and did a dance to Aretha Franklin's version of "A Change Is Gonna Come."  The dance ended with this emotional hug.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2210 - RC Dance Dance Show Rehearsal - 06.09.17

This afternoon/evening I took photos at my daughter's dress rehearsal.  I was a little late arriving because it took me almost an hour and forty-five minutes to get there from work mid afternoon.  This is a photo at the end with my daughter listening to notes and instructions.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2162 - RC Dance Ballet Gala - 04.22.17

Tonight was the Ballet Gala for RC Dance Center.  We were at the Colony Theater in Burbank, which was a new venue.  This is my daughter and her friends in a ballet called "Mi Gitana."  This is something I saw today.

Day 2061 - Stretching - 01.11.17

This evening I ran over to RC Dance to take one more set of photos for one of the girls for her summer intensive auditions.  This is her getting ready before the photos.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2036 - John Burroughs High School Dance Show 2016 - 12.17.16

Tonight we went to my daughter's school dance show.  This is one number she was in with some of her friends from RC Dance Center.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2030 - Three Best Friends - 12.11.16

And so this year's Nutcracker season comes to a close.  Today was the final performance.  This is my daughter and her two best friends after the show.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2029 - Crayon Time In The Makeup Room - 12.10.16

Today we had two more performances of The Nutcracker.  This is a shot in the makeup room for the little girls.  They filled the time with some coloring.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2028 - Putting Makeup On - 12.09.16

This morning was the first performance of The Nutcracker.  For the afternoon we had another dress rehearsal.  This is one of my daughter's friend's putting makeup on one of the boys, who of course doesn't know anything about putting on makeup.  I love the way this photo came out.  It is a real candid moment and feels like you are really in on a moment.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2027 - Nutcracker Pas de Deux - 12.08.16

Today I was at the Alex Theater for about 7 hours for The Nutcracker dress rehearsal.  This is a moment from the Pas de Deux.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1995 - Fight Scene - 11.06.16

I spent a bunch of time at the dance studio this morning.  This is rehearsal for all the mice and the mouse queen and the eventual fight with the soldiers and nutcracker.  This is something I saw today.
