Day 2075 - Howard Jones "Human Lib" - 01.25.17
I love Howard Jones. I was extremely disturbed a few years ago when I mentioned him to a much younger co-worker and he did not know who Howard Jones was. I fear that he will be too soon forgotten. Well, not in this house hold. I love this record. I have a couple vinyl copies (you can't have too many) and we still have my wife's tape from back in the day. This is something I saw today.

Day 2074 - Meanwhile In America Continued - 01.24.17
Recently there have been some additions to this Trump street art. I like the addition of the blindfold and the narration caption. If you zoom in you can read it. It is sort of scary. There is also the new piece with the children running, but I don't know if this is connected. This is something I saw today.

Day 2064 - Little Man Of Disneyland - 01.14.17
I found this book at Cost Plus World market just after Christmas. I had never seen it before, but once I picked it up and read it I had to have it. This was originally published when Disneyland opened back in 1955 and it is basically just a big advertisement for Disneyland. The story involves this little man, Patrick Begorra, who lives in a tree where Disneyland is being built. At first he is upset, but after a quick helicopter ride to Disney Studios where Donald and Mickey show him the plans for Disneyland he suddenly is all on board with cutting down all the trees and building Disneyland. All he wants is that he can have a little home in Disneyland. Hilarious. His home even showed up near the Indiana Jones ride during the 50 year anniversary, so if you go to Disneyland look for Patrick Begorra's home. Today we put away all of our Christmas decorations, but I now have this book on display in our living room. This is something I saw today.

Day 2062 - "From Hell To Victory" and "Inglorious Bastards" - 01.12.17
It was raining the morning when I stopped by the New Beverly for this photo. This was the double feature I saw this evening, a couple WWII pictures from the 70's. "From Hell To Victory" wasn't all that great, but "Inglorious Bastards" was fantastic. It had great action. It was fun and funny. The plot moved right along and there wasn't really any slow spots. Lots of times with these double features I struggle to stay awake for the second picture, but tonight was the opposite. I had trouble focusing on the first picture, but was wide awake for the second. I credit that to "Inglorious Bastards" being a far more entertaining film. This was something I saw today.

Day 2057 - VES Bake-Off - 01.07.17
Tonight
I went with some co-workers to the VES Bake-Off and Pre-Party in
Beverly Hills. Oooooo, Beverly Hills. To be honest I rarely ever
venture to that part of town. The party was crowded and I met a few new
people so that was fun. The actually Bake-Off portion of the evening
where the 10 films presented their case and showed clips for why they
should win the Academy Award for best Visual Effects was pretty cool. A
representative from the Visual Effect team had 5 minutes to talk about
all the effects they did and then they would show a 3-5 minute reel of
clips from the film. Then there was a brief 3 minute Q&A panel discussion
with 3-4 members of the Visual Effects team. I really
enjoyed that, but it meant for another late night out. I'm beat. This
head of Oscar was one of the many large statues in the lobby of the
Goldwyn theater, where the Bake-Off took place. It is kind of crappy
and blurry and foggy because it was taken with my phone. Ugh. This is
something I saw today.

Day 2056 - Floor Show At Clifton's - 01.06.17
This evening I joined a bunch of friends at Clifton's to say goodbye to some dear friends who are moving to Vancouver. I had never been to Clifton's, but was excited to go, because I had heard so much about it. It was perhaps even better than I imagined. Of course I brought a camera and tried my best to capture some of the ambiance. I'll be honest it was tough. This photo of one of the dancers doesn't really capture the ambiance, because I have manipulated it so much, but I kind of feel like the less manipulated ones don't capture it either and they are less interesting. So I went for this one today. This is something I saw today.

Day 2055 - Burbank Rose Parade Float - 01.05.17

Day 2054 - Meanwhile Back In America - 01.04.17

Day 2053 - Back To Work Sunrise - 01.03.17
I was up early this morning to get ready to go back to work. It was a beautiful sunrise. These colors lasted about 5 minutes. Just moments after this shot I went back inside to change lenses and when I returned 60 seconds later, this had almost completely faded. I like that feeling when I am able to catch a fleeting moment in the morning. This is something I saw today.

Day 2052 - Kung Fu Panda 3 Cereal - 01.02.17
I got this box of Kung Fu Panda 3 cereal for Christmas. I has no idea this was even made. This was on the grocery shelf in Arizona. It is sort of scary to think this was still on the shelf, since the movie came out way back in March. It is a nice addition to my collection. This is something I saw today.
