Day 1864 - The Kinks "In Heat" - 06.29.16

It is funny that recently I was looking on my iTunes for this album and I realized that I didn't have it.  I was sort of bummed.  Then just this past weekend I pulled out some old CD's and one of them was an 80's music compilation from the 90's.  I had not listened to it forever.  The first track was the Romantics "Talking In Your Sleep" which again made me think about not having the record.  Then to my lovely surprise while thumbing through the record shelf last night I realized I did have The Romantics record.  What joy!!!!  This is something I saw today.

Day 1834 - Santa Barbara Courthouse Steps - 05.30.16

Today we went to Santa Barbara.  One of our stops was to visit the courthouse.  This day was overcast and so the light was beautiful.  This is my daughter posing and is something I saw today.

Day 1832 - Dancer On Suicide Bridge - 05.28.16

This morning my wife, daughter and I got up early to go take some photos at Suicide Bridge in Pasadena.  We got up early so that we wouldn't have too much traffic to deal with.  My flash and I were in the street most of the time.  For this photo just my flash and my wife who was moving the flash in and out of the street were in the street.  We all were pretty happy with how this photo came out.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1831 - Happy Birthday Jimmy Angel - 05.27.16

This week has certainly been busy for evening festivities.  Tonight was a birthday celebration for Jimmy Angel at Cody Bryant's Viva Cantina in Burbank.  We arrived a little late and the place was packed.  We ended up having to sit outside on the patio.  I popped into the main room now and again to take some photos of Jimmy and some of the other performers.  This is Jimmy performing and was something I saw today.

Day 1830 - Grindhouse 2 - 05.26.16

The double feature of Machete and Hell Ride was billed as Grindhouse 2 at the New Beverly.  I could not pass that up.  I met a friend there for the viewing this evening and we had a grand ole time.  Machete played great.  The theater may not have been full, but everyone was laughing and applauding and reacting in all the right places.  It was a great experience. Larry Bishop was there to introduce Hell Ride, which was also pretty cool. This is something I saw today.

Day 1829 - R.I.P. Prince - 05.25.16

Yesterday when driving down Beverly I noticed this piece of street art for Prince.  Today I drove the same way to work so I could stop and take a photo.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1828 - "Amuck" and "The Blood Splattered Bride" - 05.24.16

This week is going to be a busy week for going out in the evening.  Last night was The Cure.  Tonight was a double feature at The New Beverly and I'm going to hit up another double feature on Thursday.  This is another iPhone photo I snapped before I went into the theater.  Clearly I did some iPhone digital magic as I was waiting for the movie to start.  Tonight's movies were interesting.  From what I understand, "Amuck" has never been released on home video.  It was the reason I went.  In the end the movie was just okay.  "Blood Splattered Bride" on the other hand was fantastic.  It was horrifically violent and gory, but at the same time not actually too graphic.  There was a lot of off screen gore that was implied to great effect.  I recommend the movie if you ever have a chance to see it.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1827 - The Cure At The Hollywood Bowl - 05.23.16

Tonight the whole family went to The Cure concert at the Hollywood Bowl.  We were pretty far back, but it didn't matter.  They sounded great.  I took photos on my phone throughout the night and posted to Instagram.  This is one of the photos and was something I saw today.

Day 1826 - The Enchanted Tiki Room - 05.22.16

Today was the last day before our annual passports for Disneyland expired.  My wife and I went and hit our favorite attractions for one last time because it will probably be a few years before we can afford annual passports again.  The Tiki room of course was on our list.  This is something I saw today.
