Day 2394 - Billy Squier "Signs Of Life" - 12.10.17

This is the Billy Squier record that did him in.  It contains the single "Rock Me Tonight" which had one of the worst videos of Billy Squier prancing around a room.  I have heard it said that this video killed his career.  I don't know if that is true or not.  I remember that video, but I don't remember thinking it was bad at the time.  I think that music tastes just changed.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2392 - The J. Geils Band "Sanctuary" - 12.08.17

Sanctuary is a recent addition to my J. Geils collection.  When I was  kid, I of course had Freeze Frame and Showtime.  Showtime was a live album that covered a bunch of their catalog and was a great album.  However it wasn't until many years later when collecting records that I discovered that they had some great records before the breakthrough mega hit that was Freeze Frame.  This is a record I almost bought before, but in the end the seller was asking too much money.  Over thanks giving I found it for three bucks, a price I could live with.  I picked this up with another J. Geils record. This is something I saw today.

Day 2391 - The B-52's "Whammy!" - 12.07.17

As much as I love The B-52's, there are gaps in my B-52's catalog.  "Whammy!" is no longer a whole in my collection.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2390 - Thompson Twins "Lay Your Hands On Me" - 12.06.17

Yet another recent purchase.  This is a great Thompson Twins track.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2389 - Bryan Adams "Cuts Like A Knife" - 12.05.17

I found this record in Arizona at Thanksgiving.  This is an album I had as a kid on cassette.  A couple months ago I woke up one morning with "Cuts Like A Knife" in my head and I was extremely disappointed when I went to the record shelf and discovered that I did not own this record on vinyl.  That wrong has now been corrected. This is something I saw today.

Day 2387 - Dew Drop Costume History - 12.03.17

This is the bodice for my daughter's Dew Drop costume this year.  Her name now joins her friends who previously wore the costume the last couple years.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2382 - Jackson Browne - 11.28.17

This past weekend, while in Arizona I found a record store with some decently priced records.  I picked up Jackson Browne's first record.  I had this digitally before and I love this record.  I was extremely excited to find this on vinyl.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2376 - Soul Coughing "Ruby Vroom" - 11.22.17

A few weeks back I wanted to listen to this CD, but I could not find it.  I spent hours looking through binders of CDs and never found the disc.  The frustrating this is that I remember listening to it just a couple months ago.  I must have misplaced it after listening to it that time.  Finally after looking for hours, I gave up and realized that I could just buy the CD again online for a couple bucks.  So I ordered it and not I have it again.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2375 - The Grudge - 11.21.17

This is another cheap DVD I picked up this past weekend.  I haven't watched this since it came out.  The original of course if superior, but I remember this one being pretty good as well.  More than the film, I love the way this photo came out.  This is something I saw today.

I bought this DVD on clearance at the grocery story this weekend and watched it this afternoon.  I was hoping it would be entertaining, but it was even better than I had expected.  It was super fun and I will definitely be watching this again over the years.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2366 - Nutcracker Photo Day - 11.12.17

Today was the day for studio photos for Nutcracker.  Usually photos are on Saturday and I hang around taking photos, but this year they did it on Sunday and so I couldn't hang around all day.  I did stop by and was going to help take some photos of costumes, but in the end my wife and her friend Michelle just used an iPhone, so I left.  I snapped just couple photos before leaving.  This is something I saw today.

I brought my camera with me on my walk this morning and took a picture of the Dr. Burbank statue by Costco.  You can see the moon in the sky before the sun came up.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2361 - Oh Wonder "Ultralife" - 11.07.17

I recently discovered Oh Wonder digitally.  I had listened to the record on my iPod and really liked it.  So when I saw it this weekend at Urban Outfitters I picked it up.  I saw it on the wall and it was the last copy they had.  I had to get the clerk at the cash register to get it down, which I am sure annoyed the people behind me in line.  The one thing about it was that I was not able to see the price when it was on the wall and so after having the clerk go through the trouble of getting it down I felt obligated to buy it even though it was more expensive than I had hoped.  Oh well.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2359 - Master Of None Season 2 Soundtrack - 11.05.17

This weekend I was at Urban Outfitters and I picked up a few records.  This is the soundtrack to the second season of Master of None.  It has some great Italian pop songs, which is mostly why I picked it up.  To be honest every track is great on here.  It even has Soft Cell's "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye" which is a favorite of mine that I was just listening to last week.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2358 - Cookies 'n' Cream Halloween Wrapper - 11.04.17

Day 2356 - Don Ho "East Coast West Coast" - 11.02.17

I love a lot of the old live records from the 50's, 60's and 70's from artists working clubs and Vegas casinos.  I love how they really capture the spirit of their shows.  I also love the chit chat between the songs.  Everything feels more intimate.  Sometimes I feel like these records capture more of the artist than the studio recordings.  This Don Ho record is an example of that.  This is something I saw today.
