Day 2037 - Nativity The Musical - 12.18.16

Today was a big theater day.  This afternoon we attended Nativity the Musical at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Burbank and then in the evening we went to see a friend in a new play entitled "Snowed Inn" at the El Portal theater.  Both plays were a lot of fin.  Mary and Joseph pictured here were two friends of my daughter.  They were great.  In fact the whole production was great and I think we will go again next year.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2036 - John Burroughs High School Dance Show 2016 - 12.17.16

Tonight we went to my daughter's school dance show.  This is one number she was in with some of her friends from RC Dance Center.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2035 - Poinsettia - 12.16.16

This is a poinsettia on our porch with rain drops on it.  Yes, rain drops in Los Angeles.  It has been nice having some rain this week.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2034 - John Burroughs High School Dance Show Rehearsal 2016 - 12.15.16

Today I went to my daughter's rehearsal for her school dance show and took pictures of the dancers.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2033 - Rogue One Popcorn Bucket - 12.14.16

Last night my wife and I went to a crew screening of "Rogue One."  We absolutely loved it.  The audience was great, laughing and cheering in all the right parts.  We picked up this souvenir popcorn bucket.  This will go in the record room.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2032 - Star Wars Cereal - 12.13.16

I picked up this box of Star Wars cereal recently.  I had never seen a box with Rey on the box.  I have it in my record room with my other cereal boxes now.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2031 - Patton and Tomita - 12.12.16

Day 2030 - Three Best Friends - 12.11.16

And so this year's Nutcracker season comes to a close.  Today was the final performance.  This is my daughter and her two best friends after the show.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2029 - Crayon Time In The Makeup Room - 12.10.16

Today we had two more performances of The Nutcracker.  This is a shot in the makeup room for the little girls.  They filled the time with some coloring.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2028 - Putting Makeup On - 12.09.16

This morning was the first performance of The Nutcracker.  For the afternoon we had another dress rehearsal.  This is one of my daughter's friend's putting makeup on one of the boys, who of course doesn't know anything about putting on makeup.  I love the way this photo came out.  It is a real candid moment and feels like you are really in on a moment.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2027 - Nutcracker Pas de Deux - 12.08.16

Day 2000 - "King For A Day" - 11.11.16

Wow, 2000 days of photos.  That is a benchmark.  Given the results of the election this week a lot of thought and reading has been focused on what to do now.  How do we as a country make sure we don't go even further off the rails.  I read an amazing article about tyranny and the safe guards we have to keep in place to avoid it.  Unfortunately many are blindly leading us down that path.  I am keeping a positive attitude that we will overcome and avoid giving away our freedoms.  So in light of all that thought and the hope that we avoid a king or dictator situation, I thought this record was sort of appropriate.  Let's avoid giving any one person the wish of being king for even a day, because that is all it takes to start down a slippery slope.  Let's keep the checks and balances firmly in place.  This is something I saw today.
