Day 701 - Atari Touch Me - 04.21.13

Today was a nice relaxing day at home.  I listened to and digitized some records.  I read a bunch of Batman Knightfall.  I also photographed and scanned a bunch of records.  I also took a few moments to photograph this old handheld toy of mine.  This is one of the original hand held games.  I must have gotten it back in '78 or '79.  It was something I saw today.

Day 700 - Record Store Day - 04.20.13

Today was Record Store Day.  I planned on going and maybe picking up a few records pressed just for today.  I did get a couple records, but nothing super exciting when compared to what else I found.  At one of the record stores I went through all their 7" records and pulled out a stack of interesting records.  Many were not priced.  I brought them to the front desk to get priced and then I could figure out what I could afford.  I thought that was all I was going to get.  But then one of the guys working there walked by with a Flipper album.  I asked if I could see it and I then told him I was going to buy it.  He then told me had gotten a bunch of punk records from the 80's out.  The store had just gotten in a big record collection and they were literally just unpacking boxes and putting out records.  I found some of these in the racks and others as the Black Flag and two Big Black records I grabbed as soon as he priced them.  I'm sure there were more gems in the boxes, but I had to cut myself of and leave before I spent any more money.  Anyway I was pretty excited to get these few records.  I laid them out for this photo to immortalize the days treasure.  It was something I saw today.

Day 699 - Walkway - 04.19.13

The sun was nice as I left work today.  This is a walkway outside the building in which I work.  It was something I saw today.

Day 698 - Tree On Verdugo - 04.18.13

Nothing too exciting today.  Just took a picture of a tree along Verdugo on the way home from work.  It was something I saw today.

Day 697 - Yum!!! - 04.17.13

It was Take Your Kids To Work Day today at work.  My kids are too old to come, but that didn't mean I didn't participate.  I was lucky enough to be asked to be one of the photographers documenting the day.  This is a friend of mine's son getting a super tasty desert.  Yum!!!  It was something I saw today.

Day 696 - Campanile Tower - 04.16.13

I had some free time this afternoon and so I did a quick walk around campus to find a photo.  The sun was right behind the Campanile building tower, which I thought might be interesting.  It was something I saw today.

Day 695 - Turbo Race Car - 04.15.13

At work today there was an Indy race car that is being sponsored by Firestone and the upcoming movie Turbo.  It was cool.  It was something I saw today.

Day 693 - Track Meet - 04.13.13

My daughter participated in a track meet this morning.  We got there plenty early and watched as they set things up.  This student pulling this equipment was something I saw today.

Day 692 - Evening Hallway - 04.12.13

Today is another picture of the same hallway from yesterday, but looking in the other direction and instead of the morning this is the end of the day.  It was something I saw today.

Day 690 - Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey - 04.10.13

There are several areas at work where people have set up bars for some after hour unwinding.  This bottle of whiskey is part of one such set up.  It was something I saw today.

Day 689 - CFX Theater - 04.08.13

Today was another day of taking a photo at work.  Our CFX department has their own little theater and this sign directs you there.  It was something I saw today.

Day 688 - Crane - 04.08.13

At work there is some construction equipment next to the parking garage.  I'm not sure what it is for, but when I was leaving this evening I thought I'd snap this photo.  It was something I saw today.

Day 687 - Cinderalla - 04.07.13

This morning we visited the Magic Kingdom.  I wanted to really see the new Fantasy Faire area and take some photos.  It was pretty quiet this morning.  We left before noon when the sun was coming out and the crowds were picking up.  This Cinderella is in a window display.  It was something I saw today.

Day 686 - Bunny - 04.06.13

Today was extremely relaxing.  After running around for a few errands this afternoon was spent with the windows open, music on the stereo and "All-Star Superman" in my hands.  This Easter Bunny was kicking it as well.  It was something I saw today.

Day 685 - Necklace - 04.05.13

Tonight my wife and I went and watched my daughter in the Luther Middle School Pop Show.  While waiting to get in I took this photo of my wife's necklace.  It was something I saw today.

Day 684 - Before Pop Show - 04.04.13

My daughter has a junior high Pop Show performances tonight and tomorrow night.  I took this before she left for the show, which is why she has all the make up on.  She was something I saw today.

Day 683 - Margarita Time - 04.03.13

I was finally well enough to go back to work today and it was a good day to do so because we had a department lunch at Viva Fresh.  Margaritas were the drink of choice for most of the department.  This is a friend of mine getting to the bottom of his.  It was something I saw today.

The story is getting old, but I was home sick again today so I couldn't venture far for a photo.  So here is some more Easter leftovers.  This stuffed bunny was something I saw today.

Day 680 - Easter Cake - 03.31.13

Happy Easter everyone.  My Easter was spent mostly agonizing in bed.  I think I was sicker today than yesterday.  I really wish I would feel better.  Now because of all the coughing my muscles really hurt when I cough.  Enough of my troubles.  The highlight for the day was most certainly the amazing dinner my wife made which culminated in this tasty cake.  Yum.  It was something I saw today.

Day 679 - Harley Quinn - 03.30.13

I was still sick today, but I did pull myself together enough to trek down to Anaheim for WonderCon.  It was the first comic book convention I've ever gone to.  That is kind of amazing since I have been collecting and reading comics off and on since the mid 80's.  I only stayed a couple hours because I was really not feeling well and all the crowds weren't helping.  I went there looking for some Animal Man and Tomb of Dracula comics.  I found just about everything I was looking for, plus a few other goodies.  Before leaving a took just a couple photos.  My plan when I got there was to look for comics and then spend an hour or two just taking photos of people in costumes.  Unfortunately by the time I found my comics I was feeling hunger and miserable so I took a couple shots and left.  There were a lot of great Harley Quinn costumes.  This one was great because she had the giant mallet.  She was something I saw today.

Day 678 - Charging Batteries - 03.29.13

What a miserable day.  I got the flu.  It started last night and I couldn't sleep.  Then today I just laid around the house.  I watched a little TV, but mostly I laid in bed.  I looked for an easy photo and came up with these batteries I had charging on the wall.  It was something I saw today.

Day 676 - Buddha Drawing - 03.27.13

My friend Connie at work has a gallery up of some large scale drawings she has done.  One of them, this one, is based on a picture I took for this blog almost a year ago.  She called me a few months back and asked me if she could do a drawing of it for her show.  I said it was fine.  It is interesting how this image has re-appeared on the blog, but in a different form.  So anyway this is hanging on a wall I pass every day and I took this picture as I was leaving work.  It was something I saw today.

Day 675 - Scottish Rite Cathedral - 03.26.13

I was in Pasadena this morning to visit my dentist.  On the way home I took a round about way in hopes of seeing something interesting to photograph.  On the way there I passed a street that looked like it had an interesting building on it so I went back to find it.  It was the Scottish Rite Cathedral.  Flanking the steps on the front were two statues of what I think may be sphinxes.  I could be wrong.  This is one of the statues in close up.  It was something I saw today.

Day 674 - Alley at Sunset - 03.25.13

I got home just before the sun went down.  It was raking down the alley next to my house.  This view down the alley was something I saw today.

Day 673 - Little White Chapel - 03.24.13

This afternoon I drove my daughter to a friend's house and on the way back I drove by the Little White Chapel, which is a church in our neighborhood.  It was used once on the TV show "Raising Hope" a while back.  It is really a cute church.  It was something I saw today.

Day 672 - Sin City - 03.23.13

This afternoon I picked up a movie that I've been wanting to re-watch for a number of weeks now.  I haven't seen Sin City since it came out and recently I have been very much into reading old comics as well as watching Tarantino and Rodriguez films.  So that lead me to picking up the movie.  This is the case and is something I saw today.

Day 671 - Chocolate - 03.22.13

We had ingredients to make smores and there were fire pits to roast the smores.  This was a bowl full of Hershey's chocolate to make your smore.  It was something I saw today.

Day 670 - Parking Lot Light - 03.21.13

At lunch I had to run and get my car smog tested.  The testing spot has some really old lights in the parking lot.  I took a picture of this post.  It was something I saw today.

Day 669 - Rear View Mirror - 03.21.13

This is the view in my rear view mirror as I was stopped on the corner of Victory and Buena Vista.  It was something I saw today.

Day 668 - Crucifix - 03.19.13

I visited the Mission in San Juan Capistrano today.  I went with my mother, sister, wife and daughter and met and aunt and cousin in hopes of seeing some swallows return.  We didn't see any.  We still enjoyed the festivities for St. Joseph's day.  There were lots of children's groups singing and some mariachis.  We toured the grounds and the church, which still holds mass every morning.  This crucifix is at the front of the chapel.  It was something I saw today.

Day 667 - Car Dealer - 03.18.13

It was another day of snapping a photo from my car window.  This new and used car lot I pass every day.  It was something I saw today.

Day 666 - Dumpster - 03.17.13

Our neighbor passed away a few months back.  He left his house to his nephew.  This weekend he started the process of clearing out the house.  He is filling this dumpster with lot and lots of junk.  It was something I saw today.

Day 665 - Panning For Gold - 03.16.13

We went to the Gene Autry Museum Of The American West today in Griffith Park.  The first thing we saw was the panning for gold exhibit.  There was a docent teaching the kids about the gold rush and panning for gold.  Here she is teaching a young boy.  It was something I saw today.

Day 664 - Tree On Victory - 03.15.13

I got the camera out on the drive home from work.  I snapped a few photos out the window at a stop light.  This was on Victory Blvd. in Glendale.  It was something I saw today.
