Day 517 - Sunny Apartment Buildings - 10.19.12

This morning I decided to photograph the same alley as yesterday, but at a different angle.  The thing that caught my eye was the sunlight reflecting in the apartment windows.  It was something I saw today.

Day 516 - Sunrise Down the Alley - 10.18.12

This morning I got up and did my morning walk before the sun came up.  When I started my walk the stars were out, but during the walk the clouds rolled in.  There was a nice breeze bringing them in.  By the time the sun came up there was a thick cloud cover.  I snapped this photo before heading off to work around 7:30.  It was something I saw today.

Day 515 - Rise Of The Guardians - 10.17.12

This week banners went up for Rise of the Guardians.  I recently just finished working on this movie.  It comes out next month.  These banners were something I saw today.

So tired today.  Was up way too late and got up way too early.  I took this simple photo before leaving to work this morning and I'm too tired to look for another subject.  It was something I saw today.

Day 512 - Arc Angel Blocking - 10.14.12

My daughter finished blocking her solo as Arc Angel for The Nutcracker today.  This is her rehearsing.  It was something I saw today.

Day 511 - The Haunted Mansion - 10.13.12

Drove down to Disneyland this evening to catch the Halloween decorations.  The line for the haunted mansion was really long.  Everyone loves when they revamp it for Nightmare Before Christmas.  This was something I saw today.

Day 510 - Scattered Clouds - 10.12.13

Interesting scattered clouds as I arrived at work this morning.  This was something I saw today.

Day 509 - Sunset at Work - 10.11.12

We finally got some rain today.  When I left work, the sun was just setting and peaking beneath the clouds.  This sunset was something I saw today.

Day 508 - LA River Morning - 10.10.12

I've taken this photo before, but today the sun was lower and so there was a distinct glare off the water.  It was different enough that I thought it worthy of the posting.  It was something I saw today.

Day 507 - DreamWorks At Sunset - 10.09.12

The sky was beautiful as I was leaving work this evening.  However the real reason I stopped for this photo was I liked the way the light was hitting the side of the Campanile building tower.  I thought it was cool against the sky.  It was something I saw today.

This morning I took a picture of my sister Melanie.  She wanted a photo for her business cards.  She was something I saw today.

Day 505 - Manhattan Beach Gull - 10.07.12

Got up before dawn and went to Manhattan Beach to take some photos of friends.  Before they arrived I snapped this photo of a seagull on a volley ball net post.  It was something I saw today.

Day 504 - Sunset At Griffith Park Observatory - 10.06.12

What a day.  The family and I went to China Town for most of the afternoon and then on the way home we went up to Griffith Park Observatory to watch the sunset.  My daughter and I each had cameras to take pictures.  After the sun dipped below the horizon the colors in the sky were breathtaking.  I noticed this couple taking photos of the site and snapped a picture of them against the brilliant colors.  It was something I saw today.

Day 503 - At Red Chair - 10.05.12

I swung by The Red Chair this evening to take a few snaps at Nutcracker rehearsals.  I also took some shots of my daughter near the front door taking advantage of the light from outside.  It was something I saw today.

DAy 502 - Pancake Cellars - 10.04.12

This evening at work we had the opening reception for my gallery.  We had some wine, cheese and other snacks.  This bottle of wine had my favorite label.  It was something I saw today.

Day 501 - Glenn - 10.03.12

Today at work there was an event called Dream-Con, which is an annual event where employees have an opportunity to sell their art.  Most of it was selling of existing art, painting, photography, crafts, books.  But one table was a few artists drawing caricatures on demand.  This is my friend Glenn as he was drawing someone's caricature.  It was something I saw today.

Day 500 - Something I Saw Today Gallery - 10.02.12

Today I hung up 365 photos in a gallery space at work.  They were the first 365 photos from this very blog.  Thursday evening with be a reception for the gallery opening.  It is very exciting.  When I finished hanging everything I snapped a few photos.  This was something I saw today.

Day 499 - Veggies and Condiments - 10.01.12

I had my camera this morning walking across campus when the veggies and condiments for the grill outside were set out.  Love the vibrant tomatoes.  It was something I saw today.

Day 498 - Angels Rehearse - 09.30.12

Today was the first rehearsal for the Angels for this year's production of The Nutcracker at The Red Chair.  I love how in the moment everyone is in this photo.  It was something I saw today.

Day 497 - Parent Meeting - 09.29.12

This morning was the parent meeting for The Nutcracker.  Everyone gathered at the Little White Chapel in Burbank.  It was something I saw today.

Next to my house there were a bunch of mattresses set out for the trash.  You can see how stained and gross this one was.  It was something I saw today.

I've past this news paper vending machine many times traveling down Victory to work. Today I decided to stop for a photo.  It was something I saw today.

Brought the camera into the car on the ride home and took a picture of this art store wall.  I've taken a picture of this store before, but this is another angle.  It was something I saw today.

Day 493 - Garage Spider - 09.25.12

As I walked up the stairs in the parking garage to get my car at the end of the day I saw this creepy spider in a web by one of the lights.  It was something I saw today.

Day 492 - Greener River - 09.24.12

There's been a consistent flow of water in the river behind work recently and so there are some nice green patches here and there.  It was something I saw today.

Day 491 - Dancer's Back - 09.23.12

Nutcracker season has officially begun.  Auditions were today and I was there to take photos.  This young dancer's back was something I saw today.

Day 490 - Sunrise In Gilbert, AZ - 09.22.12

I got up around 4AM at my mother's house in Gilbert, AZ this morning.  I stepped into the backyard when the sun finally started to rise.  It was fantastic and it was something I saw today.

Today we celebrated my father's 80th birthday.  There was a lot of good food.  This tasty bruschete was something I saw today.

Today I drove to Arizona for my father's birthday.  We hit the wind farm just outside Palm Springs just at sunset and so I pulled over to take some photos.  I took several in an effort to get the props lined up as they spun.  This was the closest one.  It was something I saw today.

My daughter painted these shoes this past summer.  They were out in the living room and something I saw today.

Day 484 - Sunset and Telehone Lines - 09.16.12

After yesterday's photo shoot I was wiped out today.  I think I got a little dehydrated.  I was just beat today.  In fact I took a nap this afternoon and slept over 3 hours.  By the time I got up the day was just about over.  I made dinner and then stepped out on the porch and snapped this shot of the last light of day.  It was something I saw today.

Day 483 - Wonder Woman Reader - 09.15.12

I did a photo shoot at my house today.  We cleared out the living room to simplify things and took some photos with various props and outfits.  This one of Alice Orozco reading Wonder Woman is a favorite.  It was something I saw today.

Day 482 - Playground Blocks - 09.14.12

Took a drive through Griffith Park this morning before work.  Stopped at one of the playgrounds and took some photos of the equipment.  This was a set of block sort of things to climb on or sit on.  It was something I saw today.

Day 481 - Oreo Box - 09.13.12

This evening when I got home there was an empty box of Oreos on the dining room table.  Wish I could have had one.  It was something I saw today.

Day 480 - Bill Oberst Jr. - 09.12.12

I did a recording session with Bill Oberst Jr. today.  I had him record some narration in the voice of one of his characters for my 2012 Halloween Mix.  It sounded pretty creepy and should add to a creepy mood on the mix.  This was something I saw today.

Day 479 - Cinestyle Test - 09.11.12

This may seem like a pretty random photo of a bottle, but that is because it kind of is.  Tonight I downloaded something called Cinestyle from the technicolor website.  It is basically some technicolor settings I put on my camera.  I shot some pictures with this Cinestyle and some without the settings to do some comparisons.  This photo is with the Cinestyle.  It was something I saw today.

Day 478 - Drain Pipe - 09.10.12

I took a few moments to step away from my desk today and step out onto the patio at work.  The sun felt good. Along the side of the building was this drain pipe.  It was something I saw today.
