Day 777 - Owly At Biosphere 2 - 07.06.13

Today we visited Biosphere 2 outside of Tucson, AZ.  I brought Owly along for a picture or two.  It was something I saw today.

Day 764 - Owl In Flower Bed - 06.23.13

Today was a relaxing day spent mostly developing photos from Showcase.  I did take a quick break to take a picture of Owly in the flower bed in front of the house.  It was something I saw today.

Day 759 - Owl on Table At Work - 06.18.13

Today I got to leave work at a decent hour.  The sun was getting lower as you can see how it is raking across the table in this photo.  This is one of the tables around campus for eating lunch or whatever.  Owly posed for this photo before I went home.  It was something I saw today.

Day 758 - Owl on Table By Vase - 06.17.13

It was a very long day today.  I stayed at work to watch Star Trek Into Darkness.  I'm torn about how I feel about the movie.  Perhaps if I knew nothing about Star Trek and the characters I would think it was a pretty exciting and entertaining movie. Perhaps that is how I should approach the movie.  The trouble is that it is very hard for me to ignore all the Star Trek movies and TV episodes that I have watched over the year.  So when I was watching this movie there was this nagging feeling in the back of my head saying this doesn't feel like Star Trek.  This doesn't feel like Spock.  Kirk kind of seems like a jerk.  How come we are abandoning any sense of science or even pseudo science?  All these questions and feelings made me feel less of the movie.  Hence why I feel torn.  I'll probably watch it again on video and maybe make up my mind one way or the other.  So the reason I even told that story is to set up that I got home pretty late and so I took an easy photo of Owly on my new table in front of a vase of flowers.  It was something I saw today.

Day 756 - Owl on a New Table - 06.15.13

Today when driving home from Fry's my wife and I passed a prop house we often visit looking for furniture.  Today out of the corner of my eye I spotted this table and I stopped the car.  I quickly did a U-turn and drove back.  My wife and I have been looking for a tulip table like this for years.  Now we have seen ones before, but either they weren't as nice because they were cheaply made or they were nice, but super expensive.  This table is nicely built.  It is quite heavy, and it was totally within our price range.  So we had them hold the table while we ran to an ATM (they only take cash) and we bought the table.  We got it home and just in time for a little dinner party we had this evening with some friends to celebrate our 20 year wedding anniversary.  Turns out this was a great anniversary gift for both of us.  So here it is with Owly posing on top.  It was something I saw today.

Day 755 - Owl at LACMA - 06.14.13

Today at work we went on a field trip to LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum Of Art)  We went to go see the "Metropolis" exhibit and I also went and saw the Stanley Kubrick exhibit.  I brought old Owly along for a quick snapshot in front.  It was something I saw today.

Day 754 - Owl In A Mailbox - 06.13.13

This evening when I walked up from front steps passed my mailbox I thought it might be cute to see my old friend the owl in the mailbox.  So one minute later I was out in front taking this picture of the owl in the mailbox.  I think it came out cute.  It is hard to imagine a situation where this guy doesn't look cute.  Maybe my challenge down the road will be to do a non-cute photo.  That is for another day, though. For today, this was something I saw today.

Day 751 - Owl on a Car - 06.10.13

Here is my friend from yesterday.  I thought it might be fun to see him in other situations.  I may do a series of photos with this owl.  Here he is on my car.  It was something I saw today.

Day 750 - Owl on a Fence - 06.09.13

This is a little own my wife made.  She made a bunch of these last year.  They can be warmed up in the microwave or put in the freezer to be a hot or cold pad.  I took this guy out onto my fence for a photo.  It was something I saw today.
