Day 2956 - "The Love God" Poster - 06.25.19
Tonight's double feature at the New Beverly was fantastic. The evening started with "There's A Girl In My Soup" which was a very funny Goldie Hawn and Peter Sellers vehicle. Goldie was funny and absolutely adorable. Sellers was brilliant as usual. The second feature was Don Knotts in "The Love God?" This crazy film cast Don and a guy who accidentally becomes the head of a pornography publishing empire. It was Don's usual persona, but thrown into a very adult sex comedy. It was a strange and hilarious juxtaposition. I don't know which movie I liked more. It was a great night for my wife and me. This was something I saw today.

Day 2954 - Casper Blu-Ray - 06.23.19
I recently picked up Casper really cheap. I had not seen the movie in many, many years and so I picked it up thinking it would be fun to revisit. The last time I would have watched it would have been on VHS. I'm sure we still have the tape packed away somewhere. We watched it this afternoon and it was fun. Christina Ricci was great in it. The FX are very 90's, but that was okay. This was something I saw today.

Day 2953 - Bailen at the Troubadour - 06.22.19
We liked Bailen so much earlier this week that we went and saw them this evening at the Troubadour. The Troubadour is my favorite venue in LA. I love the intimate setting. This was a great way to see this group. We had a great time. This is Julia Bailen the younger sister of the group. She was accompanied by her two brothers. They had great harmonies which were reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac at times. They sounded great. This is something I saw today.

Day 2951 - "Lady In Cement" and "Pretty Poison" Double Feature - 06.20.19
It has been a busy week. My wife and I went and saw a great double feature at the New Beverly. "Lady in Cement" was a great Sinatra detective flick and Pretty Poison as a crazy Anthony Perkins and Tuesday Weld film. "Pretty Poison" has been on my radar for a little while now as a film I needed to see and it did not disappoint. Something that was cool to learn was that this double feature is how the films originally played together in drive-ins. This is something I saw today.

This evening my wife, daughter and I went and say Hozier at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. He was amazing. The opening act was a sibling trio named Bailen. We loved them as well. They cam out and sang with Hozier at the end. You can see them to the right of Hozier. This is something I saw today.

Day 2946 - "The Green Slime" and "Journey To The Far Side Of The Sun" - 06.15.19
Today was a whirlwind. I saw "The Green Slime" at 2PM with my wife and Daughter. Then we went to see the Cubs beat the Dodgers. I then dropped the family off at home and I went back to the New Beverly to watch "Journey to the Far Side Of The Sun" at Midnight. This is a movie I saw one summer at a kiddie matinee. There is a scene where a guy takes out a glass eye that has a camera in it and that scene stuck with me for years. It was only a couple years ago when I figured out what that film was. So when it showed up as a midnight movie I had to go. There were not very many people in the theater, but I still loved that I was seeing it again on the big screen. What a day. this is something I saw today.

Day 2944 - "The Wrecking Crew" and "Hammerhead" - 06.13.19
Great spy double feature this evening. "The Wrecking Crew" is a great Dean Martin Matt Helm flick. I've scene it before at the New Bev, but it was great again. It also has Sharon Tate and she is a delight. I wish I could find a soundtrack for this, because the Dean Martin transition songs are priceless. If you ever have a chance to catch this one, do yourself a favor. This is something I saw today.

Day 2942 - "Knife + Heart" and "Cruising" - 06.11.19
I watch a great double feature tonight. "Knife + Heart" as an interesting new new movie and "Cruising" was really great. I had scene it once before about twenty years ago on video. I thought it was okay then, but seeing it now I found it quite great. Seeing something on the big screen really is a whole different ballgame. This is something I saw today.

Day 2940 - Sammy Davis Jr. "Mood To Be Wooed" - 06.09.19
This is one of my most favorite records that I discovered this past year. It had been in the collection for who knows how long, but I brought it to work and listened to it one morning and it was like I has hearing it for the first time. I fell in love. I have listened to it many, many times since then, including this weekend. This is something I saw today.

Day 2935 - "Pink Flamingos" and "Female Trouble" - 06.04.19
Tonight I had the pleasure to enjoy a John Waters double feature of "Pink Flamingos" and "Female Trouble." I'd seen "Pink Flamingos" before, but had not seen "Female Trouble." The screening was sold out and the audience was great. Both films were wonderfully outrageous and I am so glad I could attend. These are meant to be seen with an audience. This is something I saw today.

Day 2932 - Rocketman Poster from Cinemark - 06.01.19
My daughter and I went and saw "Rocketman" this morning and I got this poster at the theater. We loved the movie. I had not done any reading up on the film before hand and neither of us knew that it was a musical and so we were both so surprised and loved every frame. This is something I saw today.
