Day 2811 - Dragon PEZ - 01.31.19

Day 2810 - Weird Al Yankovic Box Set "Permanent Record" - 01.30.19

This another thing I picked up when I picked up the records on Sunday.  This one I was excited to bring home and show my son.  He loves Weird Al and this CD collection has all the hits.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2809 - Meco "Ewok Celebration" - 01.29.19

Of all the records I picked up this weekend, this one took my breath away.  My daughter and I have a thing for the Meco version of the Ewok Celebration song.  I found it on a 45 a little over a year ago and did not know that there was an entire LP that went with the song.  So when I saw this in the box of records I got, I was so excited. I immediately took a photo and sent it to my daughter.  The Ewok Celebration is the highlight, but there are some other great Star Wars tracks that I had never heard.  Side two has some other movie and TV themes getting the Meco treatment.  Solid gold.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2808 - The Hobbit Disneyland Records - 01.28.19

Yesterday, a lady at church gave me a bunch of records.  They were her husband's who had passed away.  She was moving and asked me if I wanted them.  Of course I did.  There were a lot of Jazz records, which was awesome, but there was also this Hobbit record which I assume was more for one of her children than her husband.  I had never seen this record before.  I have a box set from Buena Vista that has more of the soundtrack, but this was obviously geared toward children.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2806 - Cinderella PEZ - 01.26.19

I used to pick up PEZ dispensers that I liked.  I have a decent little collection.  I haven't bought any in quite a while.  This one if from a long time ago.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2805 - Sunrise - 01.25.19

I have taken some version of this photo many times over the years.  I love my sunrise view from my house because to the palm tree silhouettes.  It is so very California.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2804 - Stone Pig - 01.24.19

I picked this souvenir up during a school field strip when I was a kid.  I feel like it was at the Natural History Museum in Chicago.  I bought this and a little elephant.  The thing is I can't be positive and there is a chance I maybe got it at the Brookfield Zoo, but I honestly don't remember going to the zoo on any field trips.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2803 - Valley Of The Dolls Soundtrack - 01.23.19

I picked this record up in Arizona over Thanksgiving.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2802 - Suicidal Tendencies - 01.22.19

This is one of the all time great punk records of the 1980's.  I had a copy of this on a tape that got played to death.  I picked this original pressing in recent years.  Every song is a classic.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2801 - Gamera Legacy Collection - 01.21.19

My son and his wife went through their things to see what things they could get rid of.  They picked out CD's and DVD's that they both had and asked me if I wanted any of them.  I love that they each had a copy of the Gamera Legacy Collection.  My son found the perfect match for him.  I am also glad I now have this collection so I can make my way through the movies.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2800 - Sunrise - 01.20.19

This morning I was up early and could watch the sunrise.  It was spectacular.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2799 - Alpine Village At Sunset - 01.19.19

This evening my wife and I drove over to Alpine Village to pick up some German delights at the market there.  This a weather vane on on of the roofs.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2798 - Porsche 959 - 01.18.19

This car still looks pretty good, but I do have to wonder why some of these old toy cars had to have paint jobs with the name of the car on them.  It sort of breaks the reality of the car, because I can't imagine anyone wanting the name of the car painted on the side.  The stripes aren't great either, but I could see someone doing that.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2797 - Mercedes - 01.17.19

I liked this car back in the day, but today it seems a bit plain.  Now it just seems soooo 80's and such a symbol of yuppy none sense of the 1980's.  I may not find the car cool anymore, but it is a nice time capsule.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2796 - Batmobile - 01.16.19

I can't quite remember where I picked this Batmobile up.  I probably picked it up at a yard sale.  It is beat up and falling apart and not worth anything, but i still think it's cool.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2795 - Peanuts Autograph Book - 01.15.19

This a treasure of my wife's.  It is an autograph book from when she was a little girl.  It has autographs from friends and relatives and a teacher, but the best thing are a couple of autographs and messages her mother wrote her from Snoopy and Paddington.  I found this during my cleaning and organizing over the holiday.  We now have it out on display.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2794 - T-Bird - 01.14.19

One more toy car from my collection.  I think the car looks cool, but in hind sight I am not a fan of the stripes or the "T-bird" on the hood.  Sort of looks tacky and very 80's, which doesn't seem right for the car.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2793 - George Carlin "Class Clown" - 01.13.19

Today we listened to this classic George Carlin record.  It has some classic bits such as Class Clown and Seven Words You Can Never Say On Television.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2792 - Albert Brooks "A Star Is Bought" - 01.12.19

Last year I brought a bunch of comedy records to work with the idea that I'd listen to them.  In the end it never seemed too appropriate and so over the holiday I brought them all home.  I started listening through them this weekend.  I love Albert Brooks and this is a pretty funny record.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2791 - Woodie - 01.11.19

I really thought the Woodie cars were cool back in the 80's.  They were used in all sorts of surfing and skateboarding imagery.  I still like this Hot Wheel.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2790 - White Lamborghini - 01.10.19

I can't say much about this Lamborghini other than I liked it when I was younger.  This was something I saw today.

Day 2789 - Good Humor Ice Cream Truck - 01.09.19

This is another toy car from when I was a kid.  It is funny looking at this toy and thinking that Ice Cream Trucks were the original food trucks.  They were way ahead of the curve on that one.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2788 - Blazin' Bug - 01.08.19

I'm not really a car guy, but there was a brief period in high school where I collected some toy cars.  This Blazin' Bug is one of those cars and is something I saw today.

Today was a long day of preparation and decorating for my son's wedding.  We transformed out Church's gymnasium into a Nightmare Before Christmas Wonderland.  This one of the centerpieces.  This something I saw today.

Day 2783 - Skateboarding Dog Toy - 01.03.19

Back in the day seeing anything related to skateboarding was rare so when there was a toy or a movie or a commercial that had anything to do with skateboarding I took notice.  To even dumb looking toys like this I would pick up.  This one is pretty bad, but it sort of incapsulates how desperate I was to have anything to do with skateboarding.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2782 - Impulse Manslaughter, Dirty Dishes and The Disturbed with Nova Child at Durty Nellies - 01.02.19

This is an absolute gem of a find from this week.  This was a sticker advertising a show when I was in high school.  I love that is was done on a Dominick's bulk food sticker.  So punk rock and so DIY.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2781 - 1989 Robin Action Figure - 01.01.19

Even though Robin was not in the 1989 Batman movie there was still an action figure released as part of a DC Super Heroes line.  I didn't care that he wasn't in the movie, I had him in my dorm room with my Batman and Joker figures.  I think my roommate thought I was weird for having toys.  This is something I saw today.
