Day 2564 - Heart Shaped Stone - 05.29.18

I picked this stone up at the beach yesterday.  I thought it looked like a heart.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2563 - A Day At The Beach - 05.28.18

We spent Memorial Day at Zuma Beach.  We got there pretty early and hung out until about 2.  It was lovely.  When we left it was starting to get a little too crowded and a little too hot.  The morning was nice an peaceful.  It was also nice and overcast, which I loved.  This is my daughter in the morning when there was still a chill in the air.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2562 - Solo: A Star Wars Story Tickets - 05.27.18

Yesterday we saw Solo and my wife bought the tickets online.  That meant that when we went to go in they just scanned her phone and we didn't get hard copies of our tickets.  My daughter and I wanted hard copy tickets so we got these reprints.  My wife thought we were crazy, but my daughter and I are alike that way in that we like the keepsakes and we both knew we wanted to photograph the tickets.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2561 - Watts Towers - 05.26.18

Today we crossed off a bucket list item for me by visiting the Watts Towers.  I have wanted to go there for years and today we finally went with my mom and wife.  We had a great time not only looking at and learning about the towers, but there is a small museum there that had some really great, powerful pieces.  This is a true gem of Los Angeles.  This is something I saw today.

Today was my daughter's senior graduation.  My mother and in-laws came to town for the event.  This is my daughter with my wife's parents.  This is something I saw today.

Here is the classic Tears for Fears record "Songs From The Big Chair."  One of the great 80's pop records.  Her is is sitting in our big chair.  Okay, so maybe it isn't a big chair, but it is a chair.  This is something I saw today.

Today was another ceremony.  This one was the senior awards in the gymnasium at my daughter's school.  These are the lyrics to the school song that are on the wall.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2555 - Back Stage - 05.20.18

Today was my daughter's Baccalaureate Ceremony.  My wife and I were chosen to give a blessing.  My wife did the blessing part and I just said congratulations class of 2018.  This is a shot backstage.  This is something I saw today.

I heard a great interview with Rupert Hine this past week on The Hustle Podscast.  He produced the Fixx and so I brought Reach The Beach into to office this morning to listen to again.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2548 - "Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies From The Film Curious George" - 05.13.18

I loved this movie and especially the soundtrack when it came out.  I've had the digital files forever and have enjoyed the soundtrack for years, but I never actually owned the album.  I picked up the CD at that recent yard sale where I bought all those CD's.  This was sitting on my CD player, having been the last thing I listened to on CD and so I took a picture today.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2547 - Los Angeles Ballet Academy - 05.12.18

With my daughter's dance studio closing today she went tried out LABA of the Los Angeles Ballet Academy.  I had been here once before for some auditions or something in the past.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2544 - Sleeper Out In The Cold - 05.09.18

My son must have had this book in his room.  I think I gave it to him to read years ago.  He recently was cleaning out his room and it showed up on my bookshelf.  I love Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips.  I have fallen out of the habit of reading their books and need to catch back up.  I loved the Sleeper series.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2543 - Mr. Mister "Welcome To The Real World" - 05.08.18

I recently listened to a great interview with Steve Farris of Mr. Mister on The Hustle podcast.  So I decided to bring the record in to work to give it a spin.  I took  a picture this morning before I left the house.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2542 - Paddington 2 - 05.07.18

I loved the first Paddington movie and I have only heard good things about the second movie.  I missed it in theaters, but I picked up the Blu-ray last weekend to watch soon.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2541 - Jumanji - 05.06.18

I went a little crazy last weekend with the Blu-Ray purchases.  Jumanji I bought having not seen the movie.  I have heard great things and I read the script over a year ago for my previous job, so I was interested in it.  I still have to set some time aside to watch it with the family.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2540 - Modern English "After The Snow" - 05.05.18

"After The Snow" is the Modern English record with "I Melt With You" which is a favorite song of mine.  It is a great song on its own, but it's use in "Valley Girl" which is one of my favorite films puts it in a whole other category because of all of the emotional weight the movie brings to the song.  Can't help but think of Randy and Julie racing from the prom and heading out onto the 405 freeway into the night.  Such a great ending, with a perfect song.  This album is out because I recently had it at work to listen to, but now it is back home.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2539 - "The Greatest Showman" - 05.04.18

I picked this up over the weekend.  I really enjoyed this movie when I saw it at the end of last year.  I am looking forward to re-watching it.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2538 - "Justice League" Blu-Ray - 05.03.18

I didn't think this movie was as bad as everyone said it was.  It isn't a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination, but it has its fun moments.  This is something I saw today.
