Day 2780 - 1989 Batman Figure - 12.31.18

This is my 1989 Batman action figure.  I bought him back in the day when the movie came out.  I had him hanging from a shelf in my dorm room.  His little utility belt pulls out with a string attached and that is what I used to hang him from my shelf above my bed.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2779 - The Joker - 12.30.18

This is a Joker toy I found at a thrift store way back in college.  It was probably the Fall of 1989 or maybe the beginning of 1990.  The toy is from 1984 DC Super Powers collection.  I love this guy.  I liked him more than the Joker figure from the 1989 Batman movie.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2778 - Team SAP Yo-Yo - 12.29.18

Today I spent a lot of time going through some bins of old stuff and putting things into bins that could go to the garage.  There were a bunch of old toys and such that I kept in the house so that I can photograph them in the coming weeks.  This old Yo-You with a Team SAP sticker is one of those things.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2777 - Steve Perry "Traces" - 12.28.18

Today we were at Target and I saw the new Steve Perry album there.  I bought it without hearing a single track.  Just this week in my travels I was catching up on "Stuck In the 80's" and of course they reviewed the album.  I bought the album based on that review and the few snippets.  I think the album is great.  It is great having new music from Steve Perry.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2776 - Sunrise At Cracker Barrel - 12.27.18

This morning we got up early to start back home.  We or course stopped at Cracker Barrel for breakfast.  We got there just as they were opening and as the sun as barely coming up.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2773 - Christmas Eve Cooking - 12.24.18

This is my wife and son doing some Christmas eve cooking.  One of my favorite times of the year is of course Christmas and doing the cooking at my mom's house is always fun.  My wife and I usually do the majority of the preparing and we start planning months in advance.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2772 - Running From A T-Rex - 12.23.18

Today we drove to Arizona for the holiday.  We did our usual stop at the Cabazon dinosaurs and took this fun photo fleeing from the T-rex.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2771 - Lock/Jaw at C.I.A. - 12.22.18

My son's concert at the C.I.A. in North Hollywood went past midnight and his band Lock/Jaw fished the night going on early this morning after midnight.  This is my son screaming out one of their songs.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2770 - The Screaming Skulls - 12.21.18

My son had a concert tonight and two of his bands played.  Early in the night was his band The Screaming Skulls.  He is in the background.  On bass in the foreground is his friend Brett.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2769 - Christmas At Work - 12.20.18

This is a photo of a bunch of my coworkers.  We did a secret Santa gift exchange and had some food and drinks to end the day.  It has been a long tough year and now we all get a couple weeks off.  Hurray!!!!  This is something I saw today.

Day 2768 - The Smiths "The Queen Is Dead" - 12.19.18

I would say this is one of the good Smiths records, but the truth is there aren't any bad ones.  They are all good.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2767 - Irwin Sings Sesame Street Hits - 12.18.18

I found this in Arizona.  It is the second Irwin the duck record now in my collection.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2765 - Duke Ellington Plays With The Original Motion Picture Score Walt Disney's Mary Poppins - 12.16.18

This was a record store day release.  I don't know if it was from the most recent record store day or if it was older.  It was in a record store in Arizona that had a whole section of record store day records.  I bought it obviously hoping that it was going to be good, but it far exceeded my expectations.  I don't know why I am surprised.  It is Duke Ellington and the music from Mary Poppins is all gold.  Mix the two together and you have one amazing record.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2764 - Jellyfish - 12.15.18

Day 2763 - Bee Gees "Spirits Having Flown" - 12.14.18

I picked this record up a couple weeks ago in Arizona.  You'll see melted wax on it.  It looks like someone had candles on it.  This has a couple good post Saturday Night Fever tracks.  "Too Much Heaven" is great and feels like it could have been on the Saturday Night Fever record.  "Tragedy" is a disco burner as well.  This is something I saw today.

Tonight we went to the Hollywood Palladium and saw, Death in Vegas, The Jesus and Mary Chain and Nine Inch Nails.  My son and I got up pretty close to the stage.  This is Trent Reznor singing a Bowie cover.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2751 - The Search Fo Animal Chin Record - 12.02.18

I ordered this from Amoeba last weekend and it arrived yesterday.  This is the soundtrack to one of the great Powell Peralta videos.  I love it so much.  Last night we listened to the record, my wife, son and his fiancee and I.  We also watched a bunch of the movie.  Brought back great memories.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2746 - It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World - 11.27.18

I picked this record up this past weekend.  This movie played at the Cinerama Dome last month because it was the anniversary of the Dome and this is the movie that played when it opened. I wanted to go, but it was midweek and I couldn't get there from work in time. 

I was introduced to this movie when I was a kid when it was one TV and my Uncle Art was visiting.  He said it was one of the greatest movies of all time.  Turns out he was right and I have watched this movie many times over the years.  It has all the great comedians of the time in the 1950's.  The movie became a bit of a family joke as one of only 3 movies my uncle would say were great movies.  The list was this movie, Midway and Electric Glide In Blue.  I am happy to own the record now.  Most of it is score, but there is a great pop track, "31 Flavors" that plays during a hilarious Dick Shawn scene.  Pure pop confection.  I brought it in to work.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2744 - EAT Sign - 11.25.18

We drove back to Burbank today.  We stopped for gas at the Cabazon dinosaurs.  It is a tradition at this point.  This is the sign for the Wheel Inn Restaurant, which is no longer there.    This is something I saw today.

This is inside the Provo library.  This is the library that was once the Brigham Young Academy.  The bricks are the edge of the old Academy building and the bridge leads to a newer annex building.  This is something I saw today.
