Day 2050 - Gino Soccio "Outline" - 12.31.16

I picked up this record at the Goodwill a few weeks ago.  It is a pretty great disco record.  I didn't know Gino before buying this record.  I thought it was perhaps an Italo-Disco record based on the name, but it turns out that while Gino is Italian, he was from Quebec.  So this is a Canadian Italo-Dicso record.  I have listened to this a bunch of times over the last few weeks.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2049 - White Elephant - 12.30.16

This morning we drove back from Arizona and then went to a party at our friends' house.  There was a big White Elephant swap game.  There were so many people and gifts it took well over an hour to finish.  This is shot of most everyone at the party during the swap.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2047 - Jump At The Gate - 12.28.16

This afternoon we drove to downtown Phoenix to visit Heritage Square and the Rosson House.  We parked in a parking garage near the convention center.  This was a gate as we walked out and I snapped this photo with my daughter jumping.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2046 - Pizza At Jimmy's Of Chicago - 12.27.16

Today we saw "La La Land" and "Fences."  Both movies were superb.  After Fences we went out for pizza at Jimmy's of Chicago.  It was yummy.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2045 - iPic Theaters - 12.26.16

Today we drove over to Scottsdale to an outdoor mall in search of a bed cover, but alas the store we had hoped would have the one we want, was all sold out.  This is a shot of the theaters at the mall.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2044 - Ice Cream Treat - 12.25.16

We had a low key Christmas today.  For the most part we ate leftovers.  My daughter enjoyed an ice cream bar this afternoon.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2043 - Santa's Visit - 12.24.16

This evening Santa stopped by and brought a sack full of presents for my nieces and nephews.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2042 - Desert Road to Arizona - 12.23.16

Today we drove to Arizona.  We had clouds the entire way, which was nice.  At Thanksgiving we were baking in the sun the whole time, so this was a pleasant change.  This is view of the road ahead is something I saw today.

Day 2041 - Cap'n Crunch's Christmas Crunch - 12.22.16

I picked up this box of Christmas Crunch for my son for Christmas.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2040 - Vincent Van Gogh Painting Up Close - 12.21.16

My wife and I spent the day in Pasadena.  We walked in the rain up Colorado Blvd. doing some shopping and arriving at the Norton Simon Museum.  We spent a few hours there taking in the art.  This is a close up of one of the Van Gogh paintings on display.  I got up real close to really appreciate the paint texture.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2039 - Christmas Mashup - 12.20.16

The display in our dining room has evolved over this holiday season.  It started with Linus and the Buddha heads.  Then we added the larger Charlie Brown Christmas tree.  Then today we were doing some major house cleaning and I dug up some old Christmas Coke bottles and Star Wars figures from my youth.  I thought they made a nice addition to this holiday scene.  When my daughter saw the display she said this sums up our family.  By that she meant the mashup of pop culture icons.  We have Peanuts, Star Wars, Coca-Cola, Christmas, Buddhas with Christian style halos.  She was right.  That does sum up our family quite well.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2038 - The Ramones - 12.19.16

Today my wife, son and I went to the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles for the Ramones exhibit.  We of course saw everything in the museum, but it was the Ramones show that got us there.  They had all sorts of cool Ramones things.  This wall of posters is something I saw today.

Day 2037 - Nativity The Musical - 12.18.16

Today was a big theater day.  This afternoon we attended Nativity the Musical at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Burbank and then in the evening we went to see a friend in a new play entitled "Snowed Inn" at the El Portal theater.  Both plays were a lot of fin.  Mary and Joseph pictured here were two friends of my daughter.  They were great.  In fact the whole production was great and I think we will go again next year.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2036 - John Burroughs High School Dance Show 2016 - 12.17.16

Tonight we went to my daughter's school dance show.  This is one number she was in with some of her friends from RC Dance Center.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2035 - Poinsettia - 12.16.16

This is a poinsettia on our porch with rain drops on it.  Yes, rain drops in Los Angeles.  It has been nice having some rain this week.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2034 - John Burroughs High School Dance Show Rehearsal 2016 - 12.15.16

Today I went to my daughter's rehearsal for her school dance show and took pictures of the dancers.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2033 - Rogue One Popcorn Bucket - 12.14.16

Last night my wife and I went to a crew screening of "Rogue One."  We absolutely loved it.  The audience was great, laughing and cheering in all the right parts.  We picked up this souvenir popcorn bucket.  This will go in the record room.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2032 - Star Wars Cereal - 12.13.16

I picked up this box of Star Wars cereal recently.  I had never seen a box with Rey on the box.  I have it in my record room with my other cereal boxes now.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2030 - Three Best Friends - 12.11.16

And so this year's Nutcracker season comes to a close.  Today was the final performance.  This is my daughter and her two best friends after the show.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2029 - Crayon Time In The Makeup Room - 12.10.16

Today we had two more performances of The Nutcracker.  This is a shot in the makeup room for the little girls.  They filled the time with some coloring.  This is something I saw today.

Day 2028 - Putting Makeup On - 12.09.16

This morning was the first performance of The Nutcracker.  For the afternoon we had another dress rehearsal.  This is one of my daughter's friend's putting makeup on one of the boys, who of course doesn't know anything about putting on makeup.  I love the way this photo came out.  It is a real candid moment and feels like you are really in on a moment.  This is something I saw today.
