Day 1166 - Word Picture on Dumpster - 07.31.14

This morning I met my friend for breakfast.  This was on a dumpster near where my car was parked.  This was something I saw today.

Day 1165 - Tire Sales - 07.30.14

This morning I brought my car over to Costco to get a tire replaced because it had a nail in it. I took this picture while waiting.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1164 - The Stone Roses LP - 07.29.14

This is another gem I picked up at comic-con this last weekend.  I've had this on CD since it came out, but it has been one of my most frustrating CD's.  It is not because of the music, because every song is great on this record.  The problem with the CD was that when it was put onto CD it was mastered horribly.  Back in the day I never noticed it, but as mastering for CD's became better this CD just sounds worse and worse.  A few years ago there was a remastered release of this, that I assume sounds much better on CD.  I've never picked it up.  However now I have the original vinyl and it sounds awesome.  So this was something I saw today.

Day 1163 - The Cure "Three Imaginary Boys" LP - 07.28.14

I'm such a record nerd that even when I went to Comic-Con this last Friday I sniffed out a couple vendors selling records.  I picked up some Cure records and this, their debut record is one of them.  It sounded great Saturday morning when I played it.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1162 - Can of Peanuts - 07.27.14

Today has been a big recovery day.  I got up this morning with a headache.  I was up a little while and then went back to bed for a couple hours.  I then went to church.  Then later in the afternoon I took another nap for a couple hours.  It is all just recovery from all the walking Friday.  My legs are still killing me.  Anyway, I was so beat that I did not go out hunting for a photo.  Instead I took this photo of nuts on my dining room table.  This was something I saw today.

Day 1161 - Ood - 07.26.14

Yesterday at Comic-Con I bought a few Doctor Who items.  I got a Tom Baker scarf and some Tardis earrings for my wife.  Because I spent a fair amount of money the woman at the booth gave me this tiny Ood figure.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1160 - San Diego Comic-Con - 07.25.14

Today I went to the San Diego Comic-Con.  I attended only one panel in the morning.  As I was coming down the escalator after the panel I snapped this photo of the convention center.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1159 - Kirkland Umbrellas - 07.24.14

This morning I got gas at Costco.  I wanted to be all gassed up and ready to go to Comic-Con tomorrow.  I saw these umbrellas lined up and thought it was a nice photo opportunity.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1158 - Body 818 - 07.23.14

This is the side of an Auto Body shop along Victory Blvd.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1157 - We Will Rock You - 07.22.14

At lunch today we had several members of the cast of "We Will Rock You" perform in front of the Campanile Building Tower.  That is why there is this guy singing like a rock star there.  It was fun.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1156 - Griffith Park Motel Pay Phone - 07.21.14

This motel and phone is across the street from the phone I photographed just the other day.  Today I stopped on my way to work since I was on the other side of the street and took this photo.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1155 - Rent Me Trash Bin - 07.20.14

This weekend our neighbor got the final stages of moving.  She had the bid moving van move the big furniture and she rented a trash bin to through out some big items.  This is something I saw today.

This afternoon I dropped by daughter off at dance and I snapped a photo.  This was something I saw today.

On the way home this evening I stopped along Victory Blvd. to take a photo of this pay phone.  It was something I saw today.

This morning I met a friend for breakfast at Paty's in Toluca Lake.  This sign was right next to my car.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1150 - Frontier Wok Parking Only - 07.15.14

My wife was home sick today and I had some free time in my schedule so I ran and picked her up some wanton soup for lunch.  I went to Frontier Wok, which is our usual Chinese restaurant.  When I arrived I discovered that they were closed for remodeling.  So I had to drive to their other restaurant across town.  Needless to say I took this photo at the first, closed, restaurant.  This was something I saw today.

Day 1149 - Marisco - 07.14.14

After work I had to drop by my daughter's dance studio to drop off some pictures.  So this meant a took a slightly different route home.  I passed this sign.  It was something I saw today.

Today was spent resting at home.  Since I never really went out today's photo is from inside the house.  This is my wife's OttLite.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1147 - Soldier Statue - 07.12.14

This is a statue outside the track field at Burroughs High School.  I have photographed it before.  This evening I dropped my daughter off to babysit for some friends and then live by the school so I stopped and took this photo.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1146 - Telephone Pole Mid Day - 07.11.14

I left work in the early afternoon today because I wasn't feeling well.  Arriving home around 1PM I had the opportunity to take a photo of this telephone pole mid day.  Usually I photograph it in the morning or the evening.  It was something I saw today.

I'm not sure what sort of utility is housed in this box, but I am glad it isn't in front of my house.  It is rather large and ugly.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1141 - Screamin' Joe Neal - 07.06.14

This afternoon and evening I was left home alone.  My son was working.  My wife and daughter spent the night in Orange County.  My nephew was out of town.  So in my alone time I cleaned up my record room.  It kind of got all messed up yesterday when we had Charter Internet installed.  I had to move a bunch of things so that a hole could be drilled to bring the cable into the house.  So today I cleaned up that mess and did some other organizing.  Part of that organizing was making my boxes of 7" records more accessible in a closet.  After the organizing and cleaning I took this photo of the record from Screamin' Joe Heal because it was at the front of one of the boxes.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1140 - Playing Harry Potter - 07.05.14

Late in the afternoon my daughter decided to relax and play some Lego Harry Potter on our Wii.  This is her concentrating while playing.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1139 - Lego Container - 07.04.14

Initially I thought I'd take a photo more related to Independence Day.  My wife and I were going to go to a party at a friend's house, but as the day was winding to a close we were both exhausted.  We had started the day very, very early.  So we stayed home and watched Sorcerer and I took this photo of a box of Lego in our family room.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1138 - Parking Lot - 07.03.14

I got to work a little later than normal today.  To me it felt like I really slept in, which I did compared to my usual day, but I still got to work before 9 AM which meant I was there before most everyone in my department.  Anyway, I parked one level up from my usual spot and so I took this photo looking over the Disney parking lot next door.  It was something I saw today.
