Day 3598 - Bird At Zuma - 03.27.21

Today we went to Zuma beach and spent a few hours just sitting on the beach and enjoying the sun and surf.  We had a good spot where we had quite a few surfers to watch.  And as you can see in this photo this bird who was calling out to someone stopped by.  This is something I saw today.

I've been listening to a lot of records by groups from the Laurel Canyon scene in the 60s.  This is because I recently watched "Echo In The Canyon" and because a bunch of these groups will be coming up on my 1001 albums odyssey.  I listened to some Mamas and Papas today.

Day 3587 - Hooray For Hollywood Hoover High School 1973-1974 - 03.17.21

A few weeks ago I spent a bunch of time looking for this record.  The reason being that I had digitized it years ago, but I never broke out the tracks and labeled them.  I was going though old files and wanted to do that work, but I needed to find the record, but for the life of me I couldn't find it.  The tough part was know where on my shelves I would have filed a high school record. Well today while not even looking for it, I came across it in a box with some other high school records. They were with some international folk records and college marching band records.  I was very happy to find the record and break out the tracks.  Hearing that there was a version of the Monster Mash on the record made me so happy.  I had forgotten that, but that was the main reason I digitized it oh so many years ago.  Now I think it will be making an appearance on this year's Halloween Mix.  This is something I saw today.

Day 3585 - Watching "A Little Romance" - 03.15.21

This afternoon we threw on "A Little Romance" which is a film that I love.  This is my mom and wife watching.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3584 - Family Visit - 03.14.21

My son came by for a visit this morning.  This is him, my wife and mom visiting. On the table you can see some shot glasses.  Today was the last day they were whole, because shortly after this photo they were broken.  It was a very sad day because they have been part of my life since I was a little boy.  My grandmother used to give me lunch and something to drink in those glasses.  On glass was mostly just cracks and lost a little glass. The other was pretty shattered.  I spent several hours trying to piece it back together.  I got about 75% there.  It is like a 3D jigsaw puzzle.  I felt sick the whole rest of the day because of the accident.  At least I have this photo with them in tact.  This is is something I saw today.

Day 3568 - Joan Baez "Joan Baez" LP - 02.26.21

Today the record for the 1001 challenge was Joan Baez's debut record "Joan Baez."  I've listened to this album several times in the last few weeks.  I have gained a whole new appreciation for it because I was really listening to the lyrics and music.  This is something I saw today.

Day 3566 - LA Fitness - 02.24.21

This morning I had a visit to my dentist in Pasadena.  I arrived a little early and so I walked down to Lake Street to take some photos.  The LA Fitness was of course empty.  The whole plaza that the LA Fitness is in was taped off and closed.  There were a couple security guards patrolling.  I took several pictures of this building and the plaza below.  This is something I saw today.

I've been rereading my Sandman comics.  Today I read issue #33 which is part two of the "A Game Of You" story arc.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3564 - Love & Rockets Comics - 02.22.21

Yesterday I swapped out the comics in these frames.  I put in a bunch of Love & Rockets comics.  I have had Love & Rockets in these frames in the past, but these are all different issues than before.  I really like this display.  I imagine this will be up until Halloween season comes in the fall.  This is something I saw today.
