Day 406 - One Way - 06.30.12

On my walk this morning I passed by a church I always pass by and I notices the "One Way" sign painting on the parking lot entrance.  It was something I saw today.

Day 405 - Mailbox - 06.29.12

At lunch today I took a stroll outside the gates at work.  This mailbox was just up the street.  It was something I saw today.

Day 404 - Parking Spaces - 06.28.12

When I left work this evening all the cars around my car had left.  This was something I saw today.

Day 403 - No Parking - 06.27.12

It is Wednesday and this is the no parking sign in front of my house.  When I got in my car this morning this was something I saw today.

Day 402 - Hallway - 06.26.12

Day 401 - Emergency Phone - 06.25.12

I was in downtown Burbank this evening.  I noticed that this pay phone has been replaced with just an emergency phone.  It was something I saw today.

Day 400 - Portrait with Glasses - 06.24.12

Day 399 - Tristan Rennie At The Pink Motel - 06.23.12

Spent all afternoon on into the evening at the Pink Motel in Sun Valley.  Saw and heard some great bands and watched some decent skateboarding all day.  One kid Tristan Rennie ripped the hell out of the pool.  He had skated there once before, but by looking at his lines you would have thought he skated there every day.  He was blasting airs, frontside and backside bonelesses, super stylish grinds and her threw in an invert every now and then.  He skated with style and ease.  This nice front side grind was something I saw today.

Day 398 - Coca-Cola In Ice - 06.22.12

Summer is here and at work they had Coke in ice.  It was something I saw today.

Day 397 - Art Sale - 06.21.12

Brought the camera in the car again today on the way home from work.  This guy was really working that art sale sign.  He was something I saw today.

Day 396 - Where The Wild Things Are - 06.20.12

On the way home from work I got my camera out and had it in my hand as I drove with the plan to take snaps when I was at stop lights.  Well I saw this van this evening.  I took a picture of another van painted like the Mystery Machine a while back.  This van, though, was something I saw today.

Day 395 - Flowers - 06.19.12

These flowers are on our dining room table.  It was something I saw today.

Day 394 - I.Q. - 06.18.12

This is another little toy my mother brought me this last week.  After doing some research I learned that this toy was offered in a Burger King Kids Club Meal in the early 90's.  He was a character named I.Q.  The funny thing is that when I first saw him and was trying to figure out what he was I thought leprechaun because of the orange hair and green coat.  However he was just supposed to be the brainy kid.  I now have him sitting on my computer monitor next to my Ghost Obi-Wan Kenobi.  It was something I saw today.

Day 393 - Dancer On The Beach - 06.17.12

No sleeping in for Father's day today.  The family and I got up before dawn and drove down to Manhattan beach to take some photos of my daughter along the beach.  I took some ones of her dancing, but this one of her looking out to the ocean stood out to me as being simple, elegant and beautiful.  It was something I saw today.

Day 392 - One Jump - 06.16.12

Today was my daughter's showcase performance.  She was in many, many dances.  One of the cutest was a duet with her friend in which they danced to "One Jump" from Aladdin.  Here she is with her friend performing.  It was something I saw today.

Day 391 - Director - 06.15.12

Today was the dress rehearsal for my daughters showcase.  We were in the actual theater.  Before rehearsal started I took this photo of the director going over her notes.  It was something I saw today.

Day 390 - W.C. Fritos - 06.14.12

My mother came into town today and she brought me some little toys.  She brought a Gumby and a Pokey and a few other things.  This little toy she found at her sister's house.  He is W.C. Fritos from 1971 according to the writing on this side.  He must have been part of some Fritos campaign.  I have no idea and will have to do some research.  I think he's great.  It was something I saw today.

Day 389 - Little Girl Statue - 06.13.12

This statue of a little girl is on my wife's piano.  It was something I saw today.

Day 388 - Telephone Pole - 06.12.12

While bringing my trash can from the front of the house to the back I passed this telephone pole in the alley.  It was something I saw today.

Day 387 - Caution - 06.11.12

Can't believe I haven't taken a photo like this before at work.  There is constant cleaning going on at work.  This was something I saw today.

Day 386 - Tall Bike - 06.10.11

My family knows I have some definite opinions about people who choose to ride non-traditional bicycles.  Without getting too much into my opinions lets just say this photo a this man with his homemade bike, hipster mustache and suspenders confirms what I think.  The look on the older gentleman's face I think also expresses what I feel.  This was something I saw today.

Day 385 - Portrait Pink and Green - 06.09.12

Did some experimenting today with a portrait of my daughter.  I found a location in a courtyard where there was some nice soft light and white walls to bounce a flash into.  I then did some tweaking in Lightroom and this is what I got.  It was something I saw today.

After my daughter's dress rehearsal this evening I took some photos for the studio.  This is one of the photos and is something I saw today.

Day 383 - Europe's Most Wanted - 06.07.12

Madagascar III is being released this week which means at work we have all sorts of publicity around campus.  This Marty with the clown wig was something I saw today.

Day 382 - Slow - 06.06.12

This little sign showed up in front of a house this past week.  It was out when I was driving home tonight and so I stopped for a photo.  It was something I saw today.

Day 381 - Bicycle Rentals - 06.05.12

Took a quick drive through Griffith Park this morning before work in search of something interesting to photograph.  Stopped in at this bike rental.  It was something I saw today.

Day 380 - Cupcake Painting - 06.04.12

Today at work there was a company toast to celebrate the upcoming release of Madagascar III.  In the morning I caught this young lady painting some cupcakes that eventually read "Madagascar."  It was something I saw today.

Day 379 - Yellow Cake - 06.03.12

My wife made a yummy cake today.  We had friends over this evening to eat it.  It was something I saw today.

When I got home tonight I found this tasty treat.  My wife had gone shopping at Trader Joe's today and picked these up.  They are the best.  It was something I saw today.

Telephone wires in the alley by my house.  It was something I saw today.

Day 375 - North Hollywood Toyota - 05.30.12

This morning I went with my wife to drop off her car at the North Hollywood Toyota dealer.  If you travel on the 134, you'd know this dealership because they have mannequins all around the parking garage.  It is kind of creepy.  It was something I saw today.

Day 374 - Spider Web - 05.29.12

I usually park in the same place everyday at work.  I don't know why I haven't taken a photo of this spider web before.  It has been there a while.  Well, today I did.  It was something I saw today.

Day 373 - Disneyland Treat - 05.28.12

We went to Disneyland today for Memorial day.  It got pretty hot in the afternoon.  My daughter cooled off with a yummy Mickey bar.  It was something I saw today.

Day 372 - Russian Dolls - 05.27.12

One thing my wife and I like to do in our house is change up some of the decorations every once in while.  We have lots or toys are pictures or other interesting things to put out, but we don't like having a lot out at once.  My wife just put these Russian dolls out a couple days ago on the ledge by our front door.  It was something I saw today.

Day 371 - The Last Sambo's - 05.26.12

What a great day.  Drove up to Santa Barbara for the I Madonnari Italian Street Painting Festival.  We started off the morning by going to the last Sambo's still in operation. I had not been to a Sambo's since I was a kid.  Food was good, but the decor was even better.  Lover the paintings on the wall with scenes from the book. Before we left I snapped this photo of the exterior while standing in the middle of PCH.  It was something I saw today.

Day 370 - Mystery Machine - 05.25.12

I passed by this van a few months back, but didn't pull over for a picture.  I thought I'd take a picture on my way home, but then the van was gone and I regretted not taking a photo.  So today when I saw the van again on my way home I instantly pulled over for a pic.  It was something I saw today.

Day 369 - Duck on a Roof - 05.24.12

At work there is a mother duck who lives on our roof with her ducklings.  I saw them this morning and decided to go out and take their picture.  I never really could get a good photo of the mama duck and the ducklings all together.  At this moment the ducklings are behind her hidden by the hedge.  I like to contrast of the urban buildings and man made roof tops against this little bit of nature.  It was something I saw today.

Day 368 - 2 Chairs - 05.23.12

I don't know what happened to the table that these chairs are usually around but it was gone this morning.  To me it made it look like these two chairs were having their own conversation.  It was something I saw today.

Day 367 - Bugs at Sunset - 05.22.12

This evening as I was getting into my car I looked out over ABC and noticed a swarm of bugs hovering over some trees.  It looked almost like smoke coming off the trees.  I did my best to capture it here, but I have to admit it wasn't super successful.  Still the silhouettes and sunset is nice.
