Day 3405 - Skull and Postcards - 09.16.20

This morning I remembered that I have a bunch of horror postcards from the New Beverly and so I pulled them off the shelf.  I set these couple up for a photo with one of our skulls just to make it a little different.  You can also see the orange sunlit coming in.  It has been extra orange this past week due to the fires. Day 3404 - Electric Frankenstein "Devil Dust" B/W "Right Now" 7-inch - 09.15.20

I've been listening to some 7-inches the last couple days so I have been digging through some of my boxes.  Came across this one from Electric Frankenstein and thought is would make a good photo for my Halloween theme photos.  This is something I saw today.

Day 3402 - "Tomb Of Dracula" Pages - 09.13.20

I read some "Tomb Of Dracula" this morning.  The issue I read was one where Dracula's son Janus is killed.  These are a couple great pages illustrating the aftermath.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3401 - Oingo Boingo's "Dead Man's Party" LP - 09.12.20

Dead Man's Party does get played to death at Halloween, but that's okay.  I still love it.  I may have to skip listening to it from year to year, but there is a reason it gets played to death.  The album has a lot of great tracks.  Weird Science is also another nice one for the season.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3400 - Vampire Jokes and Cartoons - 09.11.20

Day 3399 - Tomb Of Dracula #10 - 09.10.20

This issue of The Tomb Of Dracula has the first appearance of Blade The Vampire-Slayer.  I really like The Tomb Of Dracula comics and it took me a while to finally pick this issue up.  Most issues are reasonable priced, but this one because it is the first appearance of Blade cost a bit of money.  I love it though.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3398 - "Goosebumps - Attack of the Jack-O'-Lanterns " DVD - 09.09.20

My son loved Goosebumps growing up and I'll be honest my wife and I enjoyed them as well.  In recent years I have picked up some of them on DVD at thrift stores.  They are still fun to go back to.  This is Attack Of The Jack-O'-Lanterns.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3397 - "Spooky Halloween" LP - 09.08.20

This is a classic old Halloween record.  I have used a lot of songs from this record on Halloween music mixes over the years.  I have this out in our living room next to the turntable for holiday spins.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3396 - "Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers" DVD - 09.07.20

I got up very early this morning and watched "Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers", which wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3395 - Halloween 5 The Revenge Of Michael Myers DVD - 09.06.20

I woke up in the middle of the night with my stomach hurting and so I got up and watched movies.  I started with "Halloween 5 The Revenge Of Michael Myers"  It was not great and I'll leave it at that.  After that I watched The Amazing Jonathan Documentary, the third episode of The Vow and Grey Gardens all of which were great documentaries.  I loved Grey Gardens so much that when my wife got up I raved about it to her and then rewatched it with her.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3394 - The Monster Men by Edgar Rice Burroughs - 09.05.20

I have definitely photographed this book before.  In fact it was almost a year ago.  Now as part of my challenge to post something Halloween related everyday, I am going to revisit some things for sure.  I have this book out on our coffee table for Halloween.  This is something I saw today.

Today I swapped out my Spider-Man comics for some new horror comics for Halloween.  This is a different batch than what I had up last year.  This is something I saw today.

This is who I called this morning.  Been a long time since I gave this a spin.  My Halloween listening generally tries to dig a little more to the obscure and offbeat, but sometimes I will go to the classics.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3390 - I Am Dracula! - 09.01.20

This afternoon I listened to a record from Power Records called "A Story of Dracula, The Wolfman and Frankenstein."  The album has a large format comic book of the story in it.  This is the album opened to one of the pages of Dracula.  It is pretty great.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3389 - Pantry Cabinet - 08.31.20

This morning the final piece to our kitchen redo arrived.  We got this awesome pantry cabinet and we already have it filled with stuff.  It looks great when the doors close, because now everything is hidden away instead of on an old shelf things we had from Ikea.  The kitchen is now complete.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3388 - Four Witches Are Up - 08.30.20

Yesterday we bought some more picture frames so that we could hang our other witch drawings by Casey Robin.  Because I couldn't find frames to match the original two that we had, I had to buy four so all of these would match.  Actually I bought five because I have another witch to hang at a location TBD.  I figured I'd get the frame now so that it matched and worry about the exact placement later.  So this morning I was able to hang all four witches.  I also spent much of the day swapping out other pictures with Halloween type pictures around the house.  We are getting into the Halloween season.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3387 - NeverKink Hose - 08.29.20

I bought a new hose this afternoon.  My old one got a hole in it. I still need to open it and hook it up.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3386 - Breakfast Tacos - 08.28.20

I made some breakfast tacos this morning.  Eggs, ham, spam, sautéed jalepenos, tomato, avocado and cheese.

Day 3385 - Northern Command Variety Ensemble "Something Of Everything" - 08.27.20

I picked this record up a couple weekends ago.  It is a record from Israel and it appears to be this sort of youth group.  I digitized one of the songs and put it on a music mix that I shared with folks at work.  This is something I saw today.

Day 3383 - Kitchen Back in Order - 08.25.20

The kitchen is coming back together.  Cabinets are on and our witches are back on the wall.  The counters are cleaner than they have ever been before.  I'm really happy with the way things have turned out.  This is something I saw today.

Our kitchen is still in progress. Day 3381 - "George Romero's Land Of The Dead" DVD - 08.23.20

Today I watched "Land Of The Dead."  I had actually never scene this one and I was really quite surprised by it.  It was pretty good and quite a big movie for George Romero.  I started it not expecting much, but really liked it a lot.  This is something I saw today.

My daughter and her husband Jacob are in town this weekend for my wife's upcoming birthday.  As part of a birthday gift, they are helping paint out kitchen.  You can see the kitchen all a part and covered in this shot of Jacob getting a drink.  This is something I saw today.

Today I watched another of the free DVDs I got this week.  Today I watched Tremors and Tremors II.  The original Tremors is pretty fun and this is the DVD case for it.  This edition is from the early 2000s.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3371 - The Boston Strangle DVD - 08.13.20

A few weeks ago a friend at work sent out a message that she was getting rid of a bunch of DVD's that she has upgraded to Blu-ray and digital versions.  She asked if anyone wanted them.  Me and seven other people quickly responded that we were interested.  Today she dropped off the box of movies and the very first one I popped in this evening was "The Boston Strangler" which played at the New Beverly last year (June 2019), but I missed it.  I love that I now have a DVD of it.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3370 - "The Wretched" Blu-ray - 08.12.20

I watched this movie last week and then ordered the Blu-Ray.  It came today.  I really enjoyed it and wanted to own the Blu-ray so I could listen to the commentary track.  This is something I saw today.

Day 3369 - 101 Strings "Million Seller Hits" LP - 08.11.20

This is another record I picked up this past weekend.  This evening when I was listening to it the track "Tomorrow For Sure" stood out for it's cool drum beat.  I thought for sure this must have been sampled by someone, but I couldn't find a reference to it on WohSampled.com.  So after work I digitized the song as an exercise to play around with creating a loop in Garage Band.  I had never really done that properly before and it game be a reason to play around with a bunch of other stuff in Garage Band I have never gotten around to.  Essentially I created my own remix of that track, which I think it pretty cool.  I got a lotta bang for my ten cents out of this record if for no other reason that it gave me a reason to learn more about Garage Band.  This is something I saw today.
