Day 1823 - La Brea Tar Pits - 05.19.16

Tonight I got off work just a little bit earlier so I had a few minutes to walk over to the La Brea Tar Pits sign.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1822 - Use Crosswalk - 05.18.16

I took this photo on the way home as I drove down Highland.  This corner is just a few blocks sound of Hollywood Blvd.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1821 - The Wiltern - 05.17.16

This morning I had a dentist appointment in Pasadena.  Afterwards my route to work took me through LA and up Wilshire Blvd.  I passed the Wiltern Theater.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1820 - Wilshire Corner - 05.16.16

This is a shot from the balcony at work looking down at Wilshire Blvd.  I like the angles and lines and the reflections.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1819 - Led Zeppelin III - 05.15.16

This afternoon I listened to Led Zeppelin III.  It is not Zeppelin record that I listen to that often.  I tend to lean toward I and II, but III is good for a listen every once in a while.  The opening track "Immigrant Song" is a certified classic and these days all I can think of when I hear it is Jack Black in School of Rock.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1818 - Caprice Empress Studios - 05.14.16

It was picture day for my daughter for her dance studio.  This is where the photos were taken.  Joel the photographer is great.  He specializes in photos of dancers.  I like photo day because it gives me an excuse to go into the Iliad a used book store just down the block.  Today I picked up a bunch of Preacher trade paperbacks.  Woo-hoo!  Anyway, this is something I saw today.

Day 1817 - Dodgers vs The Cardinals - 05.13.16

My wife and I went to a Dodgers game this evening.  The night was perfect.  The sunset was a beautiful pink and purple.  The game was good too.  Dodgers won and there was lots of hitting action, which made it exciting to watch.  This is a view from our seats.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1815 - God Rays - 05.11.16

As I was getting ready to leave work this evening, I notice the god rays peaking out from the clouds over Hollywood.  It was an amazing scene.  I love the way you can see the sun through the clouds.  I got out the camera and took this photo.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1807 - Chuck Norris Double Feature - 05.03.16

Let me just start by saying that before today the only Chuck Norris movie I had ever scene was actually a Bruce Lee movie.  However a over the last few week at The New Beverly they have been running Chuck Norris movie trailers.  They looked amazing and so I had to see this double feature.  After watching these two gems I have to say that I need to see more Chuck Norris movies.  The Delta Force was ridiculous but a whole lot of fun.  It had a great big ensemble cast.  Lone Wolf McQuade was pretty good too.  The score was a standout for me.  It was a very much a spaghetti western score mixed with some electronic score.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1805 - Westwood Village Fox Theater - 05.01.16

This afternoon my wife and I went to a crew screening of Captain America Civil War.  Technically I wasn't on the crew, but I luckily was included on the guest list because of my new position at work.  The movie was amazing and Spider-Man was a stand out.  I teared up during his introductory scene because for the first time in my life I felt like I was seeing Peter Parker on screen.  This is a photo I took as we were leaving.  There are some of my co-workers standing on the corner.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1804 - 7 Seconds "Walk Together Rock Together" - 04.30.16

This is one of my old records from my teen years.  I loved this record so much.  I had a tape of it that got played over and over.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1803 - Yellow Dumpster - 04.29.16

The house next to mine is doing some renovations.  This dumpster in on the front lawn.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1800 - Rock All Night - 04.26.16

This evening I went and saw a couple Roger Corman movies.  Rock All Night was the more entertaining of the two.  It was essentially a play on one set for 90% of the film, but it has a bunch or fun characters and dialogue.  This is something I saw today.

For a few minutes this afternoon there was a rainbow over Hollywood.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1798 - The Dave Brubeck Quartet "Time Out" - 04.24.16

This afternoon I felt like some Dave Brubeck.  Time Out is a classic album and deserves a spin at least a couple times a year.  Today was one of those times.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1797 - Hot Rod - 04.23.16

Today was Burbank on Parade and after the parade some of the old cars from the Parade were lined up on Olive Avenue.  This is something I saw today.

I was one of the first people at work today so the lights had not kicked on yet.  I thought our cafe area looked very peaceful in the natural morning light.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1794 - The Bedroom Window - 04.20.16

Tonight I went to the cinema again.  This time I met a friend there.  I went mostly because I wanted to see The Bedroom Window which I had seen years ago and thought was good.  I was curious to see if it held up and it did.  Bad Influence which was another film by Curtis Hanson was also pretty good.  It was very LA and had several locations I know pretty well, so that was fun.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1793 - Snake In Monkey Shadow - 04.19.17

This evening I saw a couple Kung Fu flicks.  Snake in Eagle Shadow is a Jackie Chan film that he did right before the landmark Drunken Master.  It was good times.  This is something I saw today.
