Day 3419 - Ghostly Tales #148 - 09.30.20

Here's another horror comic from the shelf.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3418 - 4 Films Vampire Collector's Set - 09.29.20

Last week I was rewatching "Dracula's Daughter" and one of the early scenes in that film is where Dracula's Daughter goes to the morgue to retrieve Dracula's body.  That scene reminded me very much of the film Nadja which I had not watched in a very long time.  I went online to see if I cold buy the film "Nadja."  At first I was bummed out because my initial search found out of print DVDs going for a lot of money.  They were all going for more than I wanted to pay.  But then I found the film as part of this 4 movie set and I found it used for 5 bucks on E-bay.  I didn't know the other three films, but that didn't matter.  Essentially I could get "Nadja" for five bucks.  I ordered it and it came in the mail last night. So today I popped the movie in and rewatched it.  I absolutely love this movie.  And what was great was seeing the scene I was thinking of in the morgue where Nadja comes to get Dracula's body. The scene was very much like the scene in "Dracula's Daughter" and I had forgotten that David Lynch had a cameo in that scene.  That was a pleasant surprise.  Now I look forward to watching the other 3 films.  I think they may be cheeseball movies, but that is okay.  "Nadja" is great.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3417 - "The House Of Mystery" Issue #248 - 09.28.20

I realized I had a stash of comic books on a shelf in our hallway and that part of that stash was some horror comics.  I had some House of Mystery and some Tomb of Dracula comics in there.  I took them off the shelf for photos and to reread in the coming days and weeks.  I read this issue of "The House Of Mystery" before starting work this morning.  This is something I saw today.

Day 3414 - Gore Shriek #3 - 09.25.20

I have a few issues of this horror comic.  They all have great covers, which is probably why I bought them.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3413 - "Famous Ghost Stories!" LP - 09.24.20

My wife and I listened to this record a couple weeks ago one afternoon.  It has some good stories.  It was a great way to get into the Halloween mood.  This is something I saw today.

Day 3412 - The Many Varied Adventures Of Pumpkinhead - 09.23.20

When I took a photograph of this book this morning I was certain that I had taken a photo of this last year.  However if I did, I didn't post it.  This is a little comic I picked up at Wonder-Con I believe last year.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3411 - "Phantasm II" DVD - 09.22.20

This is a DVD for "Phantasm II" that I picked up from a friend at work.  I haven't watched it yet because I watched through all of the Phantasm movies within the last year or two.  So I haven't felt the need to return to the movie yet.  This is something I saw today.

Day 3408 - "Forbidden Tales Of Dark Mansion" No. 6 - 09.19.20

I went digging in my closet for some horror comics.  I went looking for "Dead World", "Monster Of Frankenstein" and "Tomb of Dracula."  I found some issues of "Dead World" and Monster  Of Frankenstein", but the "Tomb Of Dracula" comics were buried under too many boxes and I gave up.  I didn't want to pull all of the comic boxes out of my closet.  While looking, I cam across this "Forbidden Tales Of Dark Mansion" which I thought had a great cover.  This is something I saw today.

I have photographed this decoration several times.  This set up on the floor at the edge of a shadow is a new set up.  This is something I saw today.

Day 3405 - Skull and Postcards - 09.16.20

This morning I remembered that I have a bunch of horror postcards from the New Beverly and so I pulled them off the shelf.  I set these couple up for a photo with one of our skulls just to make it a little different.  You can also see the orange sunlit coming in.  It has been extra orange this past week due to the fires. This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3404 - Electric Frankenstein "Devil Dust" B/W "Right Now" 7-inch - 09.15.20

I've been listening to some 7-inches the last couple days so I have been digging through some of my boxes.  Came across this one from Electric Frankenstein and thought is would make a good photo for my Halloween theme photos.  This is something I saw today.

Found this in a box in a closet last night.  I took it out to put on display for Halloween.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3402 - "Tomb Of Dracula" Pages - 09.13.20

I read some "Tomb Of Dracula" this morning.  The issue I read was one where Dracula's son Janus is killed.  These are a couple great pages illustrating the aftermath.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3401 - Oingo Boingo's "Dead Man's Party" LP - 09.12.20

Dead Man's Party does get played to death at Halloween, but that's okay.  I still love it.  I may have to skip listening to it from year to year, but there is a reason it gets played to death.  The album has a lot of great tracks.  Weird Science is also another nice one for the season.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3400 - Vampire Jokes and Cartoons - 09.11.20

 I've photographed this book before, but in the spirit of a Halloween picture a day this book is making another appearance.  This is something I saw today.

Day 3399 - Tomb Of Dracula #10 - 09.10.20

This issue of The Tomb Of Dracula has the first appearance of Blade The Vampire-Slayer.  I really like The Tomb Of Dracula comics and it took me a while to finally pick this issue up.  Most issues are reasonable priced, but this one because it is the first appearance of Blade cost a bit of money.  I love it though.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3398 - "Goosebumps - Attack of the Jack-O'-Lanterns " DVD - 09.09.20

My son loved Goosebumps growing up and I'll be honest my wife and I enjoyed them as well.  In recent years I have picked up some of them on DVD at thrift stores.  They are still fun to go back to.  This is Attack Of The Jack-O'-Lanterns.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3397 - "Spooky Halloween" LP - 09.08.20

This is a classic old Halloween record.  I have used a lot of songs from this record on Halloween music mixes over the years.  I have this out in our living room next to the turntable for holiday spins.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3396 - "Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers" DVD - 09.07.20

I got up very early this morning and watched "Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers", which wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3395 - Halloween 5 The Revenge Of Michael Myers DVD - 09.06.20

I woke up in the middle of the night with my stomach hurting and so I got up and watched movies.  I started with "Halloween 5 The Revenge Of Michael Myers"  It was not great and I'll leave it at that.  After that I watched The Amazing Jonathan Documentary, the third episode of The Vow and Grey Gardens all of which were great documentaries.  I loved Grey Gardens so much that when my wife got up I raved about it to her and then rewatched it with her.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3394 - The Monster Men by Edgar Rice Burroughs - 09.05.20

I have definitely photographed this book before.  In fact it was almost a year ago.  Now as part of my challenge to post something Halloween related everyday, I am going to revisit some things for sure.  I have this book out on our coffee table for Halloween.  This is something I saw today.

Today I swapped out my Spider-Man comics for some new horror comics for Halloween.  This is a different batch than what I had up last year.  This is something I saw today.

This is who I called this morning.  Been a long time since I gave this a spin.  My Halloween listening generally tries to dig a little more to the obscure and offbeat, but sometimes I will go to the classics.  This is something I saw today.
 

Day 3390 - I Am Dracula! - 09.01.20

This afternoon I listened to a record from Power Records called "A Story of Dracula, The Wolfman and Frankenstein."  The album has a large format comic book of the story in it.  This is the album opened to one of the pages of Dracula.  It is pretty great.  This is something I saw today.
