Day 1044 - Suitcase - 03.31.14

This is one of the suitcases from my sister-in-law and her boys.  They packed up this evening to be ready to fly home tomorrow.  This was something I saw today.

Day 1043 - Dancer at Sunset - 03.30.14

This evening we went to the Griffith Park Observatory to watch the sunset.  My daughter wanted to take some dance photos and so she brought some dance clothes.  This is one of several really nice photos we got.  This was something I saw today.

Day 1042 - Bike Rack - 03.29.14

This evening my family and I went down to downtown Burbank.  My wife and daughter took part in a dance flash mob.  While waiting for that I took some photos around down.  This was something I saw today.

Day 1041 - Construction Crane - 03.28.14

Today I was back to work.  After work I swung by a comic book store in Glendale to pick up Sandman Overture #2.  This shot was taken from their parking lot.  There is some big construction going on down there.  This was something I saw today.

Day 1040 - Legoland - 03.27.14

Today was another long day of walking.  The adventure today was Legoland.  My nephews loved the driving school ride because they could drive a little car.  This is one of the scenes at that attraction.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1039 - Seal - 03.26.14

Today we went to the San Diego Safari Park.  This photo was not taken there.  After the zoo we went to La Jolla and saw the seals up close.  This was taken there.  This was something I saw today.

Day 1038 - Red Panda - 03.25.14

Today I went to the San Diego Zoo with my wife, daughter, sister-in-law and her two boys.  We did a lot of walking and we ended the day seeing the pandas.  I took this photo of a red panda while waiting in line to see the regular black and white pandas.  This was something I saw today.

Day 1037 - Duck on the Fence - 03.24.14

This morning when I parked my car at work I noticed a duck perched on the fence right in front of my car.  I had to take a photo.  This was something I saw today.

Day 1036 - Universal Studios - 03.23.14

This afternoon I dropped my son off at Universal City Walk for work.  I jumped out and took a photo before I left.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1035 - Costco Lamp Post - 03.22.14

Had to do a Costco run today.  I had my camera with me and so I took this photo of the lamp post next to where I parked my car.  It was something I saw today.

Today I did my old trick of taking photos in the car during my drive home.  This is on Victory as I was stopped at the Burbank Blvd. stop light.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1033 - Telephone Posts at Dawn - 03.20.14

It was a beautiful sunrise this morning.  It made for some amazing colors behind the telephone poles across the street.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1030 - St. Patrick's Day - 03.17.14

Today was St. Patrick's Day which meant that there was a bit of a party after work this evening.  This is a couple friends of mine enjoying the festivities.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1029 - Roof Support - 03.16.14

This afternoon I stepped into my backyard and took this photo of one of the supports for the roof overhang over the back door.  I don't know what the word is for this.  I'm just calling it a roof support, but I'm sure there is a better word out there.  Anyway, this was something I saw today.

Earlier this week my daughter had a school open house.  At the open house we picked up a poster for my daughter's upcoming choir show.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1026 - Trojan Horse - 03.13.14

This past week our company released Mr. Peabody and Sherman.  This Trojan horse is featured in that movie and is currently in our cafeteria.  I took this photo after breakfast this morning.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1025 - Parking Garage Columns in the Morning - 03.12.14

I arrived at work at my usual early hour as you can see by the nearly empty parking garage.  I took this photo when I got out of my car.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1024 - Sunrise - 03.11.14

I was up before dawn and watched the sun come up this morning.  I liked the pattern in the clouds and the way the sun was catching the clouds.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1023 - Satellite Dish - 03.10.14

With the time change the sun is just coming up when I brought my daughter to school this morning.  We had to leave a little earlier today because she had to be early for a field trip.  Before getting in my car I saw the way the golden morning light was hitting this dish.  I thought it was pretty.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1022 - Sunday Morning Sunrise - 03.09.14

I was up early for the sunrise this morning.  I opened the blinds just in time to see the pink sky.  It was magnificent.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1021 - Pee Wee Close Up - 03.08.14

Today was a pretty good day.  My wife and I got a lot done.  In the afternoon we finished all of our errands and I had a few minutes to finish watch Swing Time the Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movie.  It is a pretty great movie.  A couple classic songs and a lot of great dancing.  After I finished with that I took this picture of our Pee Wee doll.  Yes he has been featured here before, but that is okay.  It is one of my favorite things on display in our house.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1020 - Lady Liberty at Work - 03.07.14

Today at work we had a celebration for the release of Mr. Peabody and Sherman.  There were icons from around the work and some miniature golf putting greens set up.  One of the holes had the Statue of Liberty.  I took this photo very early in the morning because I had to drive into work at 6:30 to print up some papers for my daughter.  This was something I saw today.

Day 1019 - Morning Rays - 03.06.14

I noticed these rays of light yesterday, but I didn't have my camera.  I was glad I could see them today as well.  It is interesting that the rays could only really be seen from this angle.  Walk a few steps to the left of the right and they are no longer discernible.  I also think it interesting how they were shining down on the cone as if it were special.  This was something I saw today.

Day 1018 - Parking Garage - 03.05.14

It was a long day at work today.  I left well after dark and was exhausted so when I got to my car I decided to look for a photo in the parking garage.  This was something I saw today.

Day 1017 - Pact Maker Pin - 03.04.14

Yesterday I got a package in the mail.  I was excited to find that it contained the first printing of Ava's Demon.  Along with the book was some artwork and this pin, which is a reference to the story.  Ava's Demon is a comic that a friend from work has made.  It started as a blog and then she did a Kickstarter campaign to publish the book.  Her campaign was very successful and now she is working on this comic full time.  The book looks gorgeous and I am excited to see her continue with the story and to follow her dream.  If you have any interest, do check it out.  Ava's Demon.  So this evening I set out the pin and took this photo.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1016 - Shoes and Boots - 03.03.14

I think shoes make great subjects.  They have lots of character like an old person's face.  I particularly liked my son's boots with the folds and the laces and the way they are sitting.  This was something I saw today.

Day 1014 - Stormy Day - 03.01.14

Today the rain really came.  So did my fever.  On top of the rain and the sickness I had to run errands today.  It made for an interesting day.  While being out in the rain while sick probably isn't great, the cool fresh air actually felt good because of my fever.  I snapped this photo of my street with the storm cloud between down pours.  It was something i saw today.
