Day 1013 - Chair and Blanket - 02.28.14

I was home sick today like yesterday.  I was actually feeling worse.  So I never left the house, which in a way was okay because it was raining today.  Besides sleeping I watched a lot of TV in our front room.  So I snapped a photo of one of our chairs with a blanket over the back.  This was something I saw today.

Day 1012 - Bathroom Buddy - 02.27.14

This fun little statue is actually a toilet paper dispenser.  We have him in our front bathroom, but we don't actually have toilet paper in him.  My son brought him home from the Philippines.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1011 - Yellow Flowers - 02.26.14

I took my daughter to the orthodontist this morning.  I saw these flowers in front of my car in the parking lot.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1010 - Ram's Head - 02.25.14

This ram's head sculpture is on a wall just outside the office next to mine.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1009 - Daisy Duck Drawing - 02.24.14

After a full day at California Adventure yesterday, I was exhausted today.  I had what my wife and I like to call the Disneyland hangover.  At the end of the day I unloaded my camera bag which had this drawing of Daisy Duck that I drew yesterday at the park.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1008 - Moms - 02.23.14

Today I went to Disney California Adventure as a chaperone with my daughter's school choir.  They were great.  Shortly after the performance, after the kids were released to head out into the park on their own I snapped this photo of the moms.  All four checking their phones I thought really captured the moment and made me laugh.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1007 - Rose - 02.22.14

This afternoon I took a photo of my daughter and then as is quite obvious here, I played with it digitally for quite a while.  I played with it in a number of programs to get this final painted look for the background.  It was something I saw today.

Day 1006 - Barb - 02.21.14

This morning my wife was looking exceptionally pretty, all made up for pajama day at her school.  I just had to take her photo.  This was something I saw today.

I've photographed this doll of my wife's before.  At this point in the blog it is inevitable that I will be revisiting some things for subjects.  This was something I saw today.

Day 1003 - Viking Sewing Machine - 02.18.14

My wife has the sewing machine out again sewing costumes.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1002 - Nate - 02.17.14

Today I got a soft box attachment for my flash.  I did some experimenting this afternoon on my wife and son.  I was pleased with this one of my son.  This is something I saw today.

Day 1001 - Nolan Porter - 02.16.14

This evening my wife and I went to Viva Cantina for this month's Messaround.  We saw four acts and each one was great.  The final performer of the evening was absolutely great. Nolan Porter brought the house down with his signature soul.  This is a shot of him looking pretty sweet.  This was something I saw today.

Day 1000 - The Dark Knight Returns Book One - 02.15.14

This afternoon I pulled another comic off the shelf.  This is the book that got me interested in comics back when I was in high school.  This is a third printing.  It was something I saw today.

Day 999 - The Middle Man - 02.14.14

This evening I was looking for a photo and I decided to pull this book off the shelf.  I love this series and I loved the short lived television series that was based on this book.  It was something I saw today.

This evening I put my Hellboy figure on top of a lamp.  That is how I got this under lighting.  I think cropped in real tight to get this framing and to get the grain of the photo.  I like the big shapes of this portrait.  This was something I saw today.

It was a beautiful sunny morning today.  I took this photo of the way into work.  It was something I saw today.

Day 994 - Moon - 02.09.14

I don't really have the lens to take good photos of the moon, but I did my best this evening.  This was something I saw today.

Day 993 - TV Antenna at Sunset - 02.08.14

The back was broken again today and so I didn't really go out again.  As the sun was setting I stepped out to take photos of the sky.  This is my neighbor's TV antenna against the sunset sky.  It was something i saw today.

Day 992 - Love and Rockets in Frames - 02.07.14

I'm not sure what I did, but my back was really bad today.  It kept me up all night and the pain was so bad that it gave me a headache.  So I stayed home  from work.  So I ended up taking a photo inside the house.  I have taken a photo of these frames before, but this is a new angle.  I have 6 issues of Love and Rockets framed in my dining room.  This was something I saw today.

Day 991 - The Volcanics - 02.06.14

This evening at work there was a 5 year anniversary party for the hidden room.  Arrangements were made to have the band The Volcanics play.  The space was tight and they took up most of the space of the center room.  They played some great surf rock.  This was something I saw today.

Day 990 - Shadows and Benches - 02.05.14

This morning as I walked into work I noticed the sun just peaking over the Lakeside building and how it was casting these interesting shadows on this little path with benches.  It was something I saw today.

Day 987 - Telehone Poles and Clouds - 02.02.14

We had some very ominous clouds hanging over Burbank for most of the day.  I kept hoping it would rain, but it never did.  This is a shot of the telephone poles across the street with the dark clouds in the background.  It was something I saw today.

Day 986 - Spelling B by Texus Instruments - 02.01.14

This is another one of my early electronic hand held games.  This was an educational toy/game that had spelling games on it.  Part of the way you used the game is with the book that you can see on the left.  It had pictures and numbers to identify the pictures.  The game then had a few games using that information and would let you know if you spelled the items correctly.  It was a bit bulky with the book, but I liked it.  I wish the electronics were still working.  I'd love to try it out again.  This was something I saw today.
