Day 345 - Turbo Swamp Craft - 04.30.12

Another sick day, which means another day of digging into the toy props.  Today was from my old G.I. Joe toys.  It was something I saw today.

Day 344 - Rose in a Hat - 04.29.12

Stayed at home all day with a cold.  I did take a moment to step into the backyard and snap a photo of my beautiful daughter.  Her beautiful face was something I saw today.

Day 343 - Pink Motel - 04.28.12

This morning I was out in Sylmar.  I took the freeway out there, but on the way home I took San Fernando all the way home.  I had never done that and wanted to see the sights.  Drove through the city of San Fernando and discovered they have a really cute downtown.  There is a great old JC Penney's.  Also as I got closer to Burbank I stumbled upon a Pink Motel.  I pulled over, jumped out and started shooting photos.  It was something I saw today.

Day 342 - Table Tile - 04.27.12

I was at the Empire Center this morning looking for photos.  In the plaza outside Outback Steakhouse there are some tiled places to sit.  This tile of a table was something I saw today.

Day 341 - Take Your Kids To Work Day - 04.26.12

It was take your kids to work day at work today.  While I took many photos of kids and parents at work today, I thought this image of some goodies at a table kind of captured the essence that something was a little bit different at work today.  The small bottle of water and the lunch of pretzels, brownies and a cookie clearly aren't from an adult.  It says kids are present.  It was something I saw today.

Day 340 - A Rose - 04.25.12

Got back to my morning walk today and I brought the camera.  Saw this pretty rose.  It was something I saw today.

Day 339 - Pez-A-Rama - 04.24.12

I recently came across my stash of old Pez.  I thought they would make a nice photo at some point.  Well, that point was today.  This see of Pez dispensers on my dining room table was something I saw today.

Day 338 - Bug in A Garage - 04.23.12

It was a very long day at work. It was dark when I left. So when I got to my car I took a moment to look around the parking structure for a photo. I thought this Volkswagon bug made for an alright shot. I kind of wish the garage was even more empty and that there weren't those cars in the background, but I didn't want to wait around. So it is what it is. It was something I saw today.

Day 337 - Camera Bag - 04.22.12

This evening while having dinner I was thinking about the fact that I hadn't taken a picture yet today. As I was thinking of where I might go or what I might shoot, I looked back into my living room and saw my camera bag sitting by the front window. I thought the light was pretty and that it would be nice for a portrait. Then I thought, why not take a portrait photo of my camera bag. So I got up from dinner, because I didn't want to lose the quality of light, and took some photos of my camera bag. It was something I saw today.

Day 336 - Darla's Dog Wash - 04.21.12

I visited with a friend this afternoon over in Los Feliz He lives right around the corner from Darla's Dog Wash. Before leaving I walked over and took this photo. It was something I saw today.

Day 335 - Soccer Kick - 04.20.12

It was a busy evening at the park. Kids playing baseball, soccer, and hockey. This boy was kicking the ball with some girls. One, as you can see, was more interesting in texting on her phone. It was something I saw today.

Day 334 - Telephone Poles at Sunset - 04.19.12

Got home this evening, walked in the door, set down my computer bag, picked up my camera and walked right back out the door. Took all of 30 seconds. I then walked down to Victory Blvd. as the sun was setting hunting for the photo of the day. I looked down the street and saw the telephone poles against the sunset and clicked away. It was something I saw today.

Day 333 - Two Ducks - 04.18.12

Saw these two ducks at work today eating. I caught this moment where it looks like the other duck is looking at his friend thinking "what are you doing?" It was something I saw today.

Day 332 - Sprite Bottle Silhouette - 04.17.12

Noticed this image this morning while getting ready for work. A Sprite bottle was sitting on our dining room table and the morning sun was shining through it onto the wall. It was something I saw today.

Day 331 - Cassette Tape - 04.16.12

I recently dug up some old tapes. I figured that I had made some interesting mix tapes back in the day and so perhaps I would replicate those mixes on itunes. With that said, this tape isn't a mix tape. It has full albums on it. The great thing about punk records back in the day was that you could fit about 4 albums on a tape. Side one of this tape had The Dead Kennedys & Agent Orange. Side 2 had TSOL and JFA. So when I got home after a long day of work I looked around my record room for something to photograph and this was what I saw first. It was something I saw today.

Day 330 - Hazardous Voltage Inside - 04.15.12

Burbank water and power is right next to Foy Park near my house. My daughter and I walked over to the park this afternoon and I took a picture of one of the warning signs on the wall separating the park from the power station. It was something I saw today.

Day 329 - Timmy Nolan's - 04.14.12

Went to Toluca Lake this morning for a haircut. Before actually getting my hair cut I wandered down the street with my camera and passed Timmy Nolan's Pub. This is the front door. It was something I saw today.

Day 328 - Luther Pop Show - 04.13.12

Luther Middle School had their Pop Show tonight. It was fantastic. Mr. Redman who can be seen in silhouette here, did a wonderful job with the kids. It was something I saw today.

Day 327 - The Iron Giant - 04.12.12

It was almost dark by the time I got home and got around to taking a photo. I brought my toy Iron Giant out on my front lawn and took some photos with a flash. When I brought them into the computer they were okay, but not great. I decided to do some heavy post developing work in Lightroom to make the image more graphic. This was the end result. It was something I saw today.

Day 326 - Work After The Rain - 04.11.12

It rained last night, but by the time morning came around and I arrived at work the sun was poking it's face out. The trees were still glistening with rain as the run hit them. I walked up to the roof of our parking garage and took this photo as workers strolled into work. It was something I saw today.

Day 325 - Water And Power Fountain - 04.10.12

I drove home today at a beautiful time. The sun was getting ready to set and was golden. I decided to drive down some smaller streets going home, hoping to find something to inspire me. My wandering lead me to the Burbank water and power plant on Magnolia. I've thought in the past of photographing the fountain in front and today with the sun it seemed like a good time. It was something I saw today.

Day 324 - Food Truck At Work - 04.09.12

Blah. That's what I have to say about today's photo. Finally got back to work today and I was swamped. So no time for photos. Toward the last couple hours of the day my soar throat came back and I started feeling under the weather again. I tried to ignore it, but once the day stopped and I was ready to head home I accepted that I didn't feel great. I was thinking I would have to find a toy or something around the house to shoot. However on the walk to my car I saw this food truck and decided to shoot it. I knew it wasn't great, but I also knew I didn't feel like setting up a shot at home. One home I downloaded the photos off the camera and began playing with this photo. It wasn't very good to begin with. The light was blah. The people in the shot weren't doing anything so they were blah. I tried to make some colors pop and to make it interesting, but in the end it is just blah. But that sort of sums up the end of the day for me and I didn't feel like starting over. Hey, they can't be great everyday. So you get this truck. It was something I saw today.

Day 323 - Easter Rose - 04.08.12

This morning after the eggs were gathered and the candy had been sampled I got out my camera manual and started playing with some settings and the new bounce I got for my flash. This photo of my daughter is just one of the resulting photos of something I saw today.

Day 322 - Vendor In The Park - 04.07.12

It was a warm and busy day in the park. This ice cream vendor was looking for some customers. It was something I saw today.

Day 321 - Egg Dying - 04.06.12

Easter time! My daughter and her friend died eggs this afternoon. This was something I saw today.

Day 320 - Dragon - 04.05.12

Had another day of sickness so the furthest I got with my camera was my backyard. I brought this dragon toy out back to film in the wilds of my yard. I don't remember where I got this dragon. It wasn't one from my youth. I think I found it at a garage sale sometime in the last 10-15 years. It is a pretty cool dragon with articulating legs, arms, tail and neck. I like how this photo came out because it looks like he is in the wild (sort of). It was something I saw today.

Day 319 - Mattel Electronics Football - 04.04.12

Another sick day today. Spent a lot of time on the couch and in bed. So when it came time for a photo, I dug into my trusty old bag of tricks and photographed one of my old electronic games. This old football game was so simple and basic and there was about 2 plays and if you knew them, you could always score and yet we played it over and over. Those were the days. So this was something I saw today.

Day 318 - Lonely Cart - 04.03.12

This morning I swung by the Empire Center for a couple photos. This lonely cart was in the middle of the road in front of Best Buy. It was something I saw today.

Day 317 - Grand Central Creative Campus - 04.02.12

I admit right up front that this isn't a very good photo. The sign gets lost against the background. It was however just one of those crazy busy days and so when driving home I pulled over to take this picture of this new Disney campus. I pass it everyday and I thought it was nice how the sun was catching the sign. I don't think I did it justice. So that was something I saw today.

Day 316 - Burbank Fire Department Training Center - 04.01.12

Walked over to the nearby park this afternoon. Next to the park the firemen were doing some training. I took this picture of the sign in front of the facility. It was something I saw today.
