Day 315 - Pasadena Bridge - 03.31.12

I ran over to Pasadena today to pick up some supplies to clean and archive old film negatives. I started the process of scanning old negatives this week and so as I scan I wanted to be able to archive the negatives as I went. While there I took some photos of one of the old bridges. It was something I saw today.

Day 314 - Moving Tables - 03.30.12

This afternoon at work some employees were moving tables to get ready for a party. I caught this shot of this man moving a couple tables. It was something I saw today.

Day 313 - Alta Dena Express - 03.29.12

I pass this Alta Dena Express market all the time, but just the other day I noticed the sign for a city hall meeting about the property. It was only then that I realized that the store was closed. I also realized that is may not be around for very much longer, so today on the way home from the chiropractor with my wife I stopped to take some photos before it was torn down. It was something I saw today.

Day 312 - Dalek - 03.28.12

Didn't feel too hot today and so I stayed home from work and rested. So I resorted to digging into the collection of toys for the photo today. I got this Dalek toy back in the late 80's. It was something I saw today.

Day 311 - Pink Tree - 03.27.12

About a block away from the chiropractor's office is San Fernando Blvd. Pink trees like the one seen here line one side of the street for a block. I walked over there this morning and took this photo. It was something I saw today.

Day 310 - Dramatic Sky Over Work - 03.26.12

It never quite rained today, but the skies were certainly dramatic. This is a view looking over the buildings at work from the parking garage. It was something I saw today.

Day 309 - Running Rain Water - 03.25.12

There was a lot of rain today. I went out into the rain and took some photos. I even got my camera wet, which was a first. I took this shot with a slower shutter speed to capture the movement of the water down this incline. It was something I saw today.

Day 308 - Kid's Choice Awards Blimp - 03.24.12

This evening I looked out the window and saw the Kid's Choice Award blimp flying over the Hollywood hills. I stepped outside and snapped this photo from my front lawn. It was something I saw today.

Day 307 - Gas Meters - 03.23.12

Took my wife to the chiropractor again this morning. In the alley next to the office building were these gas meters. They were something I saw today.

Day 306 - Fire Fighting - 03.22.12

This morning as I was pulling up to work I noticed a column of smoke rising from the top of our parking garage. Seeing that no one was panicking I thought it mustn't be a big deal and so I drove to the top to check out what it was. It turned out that some employees were getting some training from the fire department on using fire extinguishers. Though I had already taken some photos of some flowers earlier in the morning I thought this had the potential to get some even better pictures. I think I was successful. This woman fighting this controlled fire was something I saw today.

Day 305 - The Grafonola by Guild - 03.21.12

Brought my wife to her chiropractor again this morning. He had an old victrola in the waiting room. It was called The Grafonola and I think Guild was the maker. He said it was a replica, but it was still quite old. It was something I saw today.

Day 304 - Old Elevator Button - 03.20.12

I took my wife to the chiropractor this morning. It was in an old building. The elevator must have been from when the building was first built. The call button was even vintage. It was something I saw today.

Day 303 - Gate 4 - 03.19.12

On the way home from work today I swung by Gate 4 of Warner Bros. Studios to take a photo. This is the only gate I've ever gone through to go onto the lot. There are some other gates, but I've never gone in them, except once when I took a tour. We went in through some side gate. So this was something I saw today.

Day 302 - Plane Over Victory - 03.18.12

I put slightly more effort into today's image than I have been recently. When I was driving home this afternoon down Victory Blvd. I saw a plane flying over to land at the Burbank Airport. I've seen this many time and many times I would make a mental note that this might make a cool photo. So today when I saw this, I got home grabbed my camera and walked over to Victory Blvd. and waited. I waited about 20 minutes before a plane came and was lucky that the street was semi clear so I could step out and snap a photo.

So that took a little more effort than usual. Than when I got home I decided to play a little more than usual in the digital processing. This final image is pretty far removed from the colors of the real world, but I thought it popped and grabbed by eye so I went with it. So the green is not a toxic mist floating through Burbank. It is just a digital filter. So this was something I saw today.

Day 301 - Rainy Catalina - 03.17.12

It was a rainy day here in Burbank today. The rain made the colors pop out more on the trees and the tree trunks were even darker. Made for some nice contrast. This is a shot down my street. It was something I saw today.

Day 300 - Greek Day - 03.16.12

It was Greek day at my daughter's school today. She dressed in a Greek costume. She was something I saw today.

Day 299 - Girl Scout Cookies - 03.15.12

It is Girl Scout cookie season which is why this stack of cookies was next to our door today. It was something I saw today.

Day 298 - Pie 'N Burger - 03.14.12

In honor of National Pie day I swung by Pie 'N Burger on my way to the dentist this morning. It was something I saw today.

Day 297 - Snoopy Snow Cone Maker - 03.13.12

Who didn't love the Snoopy Snow Cone Maker? I picked this one up years ago at a garage sale. We've made a few cones with it. These days, though, it sits on a shelf. It was something I saw today.

Day 296 - Photo Permit Required - 03.12.12

I took a walk up to the Brand Library at lunch today. Saw this sign and thought it made for an interesting subject. Nothing like photos of signs prohibiting photos. It was something I saw today.

Day 295 - Mad Wine - 03.11.12

A few years ago I got this bottle of Madagascar Wine for Christmas at work. Today was one of those very busy days and so I didn't get home until late and I had to find something around the house. This bottle is in our kitchen by our bottle of Randy Rhoads wine.

Day 294 - Hurdle Jumper - 03.10.12

My daughter participated in a track meet this morning. I of course brought my camera and took some pictures of athletes. I thought this shot of this boy came out pretty good. It was something I saw today.

Day 293 - Flute Player - 03.09.12

Went to of The Music Man at my daughter's school tonight. She was in the chorus. For the big finale the marching band comes out and plays. This flute player was right in front of me and I took a photo. This was something I saw today.

Day 292 - Happy Stone - 03.08.12

I swung by Forrest Lawn this morning on the way to work. I found this statue which was a family grave marker. I was drawn to it initially because it looked interesting from afar. However when I got up close,I discovered that there was this smiley faced stone sitting in the lap of the statue. It was something I saw today.

Day 291 - Memorial Field - 03.07.12

John Burroughs High School here in Burbank just finished upgrading or re-vamping their football field. I believe the dedication ceremony was just in the last week or two. At one of the gates there is a nice plaza, box office and this statue of a soldier and child. I drove by it this morning and pulled over to take some photos. It was something I saw today.

Day 290 - Carrying Lunch - 03.06.12

Picked up my camera at lunch today and took this photo of a fellow employee carrying his lunch back to his desk. It was something I saw today.

Day 289 - Telephone Pole and the Moon - 03.05.12

This evening when I got home this evening I took out the trash. As I walked the cans from the back to the front I noticed the moon through the telephone pole and wires. I thought it was an interesting image so I grabbed my camera and took a photo. This was something I saw today.

Day 288 - Car Under Cover - 03.04.12

This car is always in the alley next to my house. Sometimes it has the cover on and sometimes it doesn't. I have photographed it before, but I don't think it has ever made the blog. Today I happened to see it at a nice time for the setting sun. I like the shadow in the draping cloth. It was something I saw today.

Day 287 - Green Beans - 03.03.12

Had some friends over tonight. My wife and I cooked Indian food and then we watched Purani Mandir. It was a fun evening. One of the dishes we cooked was a green bean dish. This is the bowl of beans after I cut the ends, but before we cooked them. It was something I saw today.

Day 286 - Sunrise Over Church - 03.02.12

Walked a slightly different route this morning and so I was at a different place when the sun came up. Thought the shape of the church in the distance against the sunrise was cool. It was something I saw today.

Day 285 - Parking Garage Silhouettes - 03.01.12

Had to run an errand at lunch today. When I came back I took notice of the silhouettes looking out of the parking garage. This was something I saw today.
