Day 255 - Golden Mouse Ears - 01.31.12

A few years ago for Disneyland's 50th anniversary there were all sorts of things made golden. Rides that were there when it opened had one gold car or dumbo or ship or whatever that was golden. So if you were lucky you might get to ride in the one gold vehicle. That lasted for just that year. Also during that year they sold gold 50th anniversary Mickey Mouse ears. Each member of our family got one and they now are displayed on a shelf. I took one down today for this photograph. It was something I saw today.

Day 254 - Los Angeles Zoo - 01.30.12

Swung by the zoo on my way home tonight. The parking lot was pretty vacant. It was something I saw today.

Day 253 - Wheel Chair - 01.30.12

Saw this wheel chair folded up behind this car parked in a handicap parking space today. Makes you wonder where the owner of the wheel chair was. Did he or she just walk away? Makes you wonder. It was something I saw today.

Day 252 - Adventureland Parrot - 01.28.12

Spent the day at Disneyland. Over in Adventureland I saw a stand with wooden birds for sale. They were at the store across from Jungle Cruise and Aladdin. I love the vibrant colors in this photo. It was something I saw today.

Day 251 - Patio Furniture - 01.27.12

The floor I work on has a patio with some chairs to lounge on. I took a moment today to step outside, take in some sun and take this picture. It was something I saw today.

Day 250 - Bob's Big Boy - 01.26.12

Swung by the Bob's Big boy in Burbank this morning for a photo. This Bob's is the oldest Bob's Big boy still in existence. It is an historical landmark in the State of California. You can read more about it on their website. I had breakfast at this Bob's big boy the morning my daughter was born 12 years ago this week. My wife and I had a breakfast scheduled with a friend, but we ended up at the hospital all night and having a baby girl in the wee hours of the morning. Back then we didn't have cell phones and so instead of let our friend show up and wonder where we were, I drove over to the restaurant with my son to have breakfast while my wife rested at the hospital. So the place has some meaning to us. It was something I saw today.

Day 249 - Evening Falls - 01.25.12

Before leaving work tonight I took this picture of night falling over the hills of Glendale and Burbank. I like that I caught both day at the bottom of the frame and night at the top of the frame, complete with a crescent moon. It was something I saw today.

Day 248 - Sunrise Across the Street - 01.24.12

I peaked out the window at just the right time this morning to see the most amazing colors. I snapped a handful of photos during the few minutes that these breathtaking colors were on display. This is a view looking across the street from my house. It was something I saw today.

Day 247 - Rain On A Table - 01.23.12

It rained most of the day here, except for a brief window of time around 1PM when the clouds parted and the sun shined. It was during that time that I saw this table covered in rain water, glistening in the sunlight. It was something I saw today.

Day 246 - Girl On 2nd Street - 01.22.12

Spent the morning in downtown Los Angeles with another dance audition for my daughter. As I walked back to pick up the car I walked up hill along 2nd street toward the Disney Concert Hall. This girl was walking in front of me most of the time. When we came to this stretch of road with the trees I thought it made for an interesting photo. It was something I saw today.

Day 245 - Dance Audition Sign - 01.21.12

Guess where I was today. That's right, a dance audition, not for me of course, but for my daughter. We were at California State University Long Beach and this sign directing dancers to the audition was something I saw today.

Day 244 - Pink Cloud Morning - 01.20.12

When I stepped out of the house to go on my morning walk these fading pink clouds is what I saw. I quickly went back into the house and grabbed my camera. In this shot you can catch a faint sliver of a crescent moon shining through. The funny thing is that 30 seconds earlier when I first walked about you could see it even clearer. It is funny how quickly the sky can change. So this was something I saw today.

Day 243 - Shoe Car - 01.19.12

I've driven by this shoe car for years. It is parked next to a local shoe repair shop here in Burbank. It was something I saw today.

Day 242 - Night Time Roof Top - 01.18.12

Had another one of those days where I didn't have a chance to take a photo until the very end of the day. So I took this photo looking over the roof tops at work. It was something I saw today.

Day 241 - Batmobile Mural - 01.17.12

Had lunch with a friend in North Hollywood today. I was glad I had my camera because across the street from the restaurant was a custom auto body place that had this mural on the wall next to it. It was at the end of a dead end street. That is the 134 up over that hill behind the mural. It was something I saw today.

Day 240 - Record Shelf - 01.16.12

Had the day off for MLK. Spent the day around the house mostly, listening to music, doing some reading. This is a small section of records on a shelf in our record room. Yes, we have a record room. It was something I saw today.

Day 239 - Red Bird Candle Holders - 01.15.12

Spent the day in Santa Monica today. My daughter had a ballet audition and we visited my mom and some aunts and an uncle. My aunt has a condo in Santa Monica and these red birds were on her dining table. It was something I saw today.

Day 238 - Road Construction Ahead - 01.14.12

My morning walk takes me down Victory Blvd. There has been construction on the road going on for the past couple weeks. I passed this sign this morning. It was something I saw today.

On my way out of work I took this shot of the tables outside the Starbucks. It was something I saw today.

Day 236 - LA River View - 01.12.12

I recently moved locations at work. I'm now right next to a balcony that looks out over the LA River. This is the view and it was something I saw today.

Day 235 - Campanile Clock - 01.11.12

Had another one of those days where I didn't get around to taking a photo until I was leaving work. This shot of the clock tower (Campanile building) overlooking a fountain at work was something I saw today.

Day 234 - Burbank Flag at Dawn - 01.10.12

Brought my camera on the morning walk down to the Dr. Burbank statue where I took this pre-dawn photo. It was something I saw today.

Day 233 - Randy Rhoads Wine - 01.09.12

What a day? Super busy at work and when I went to my car at 8PM and opened up my trunk and saw my camera I realized I had not shot a single photo all day. I had not even a moment to even give it a thought. So once I got home, had some dinner I looked at my Randy Rhoads wine and thought it a perfect subject. Now I'm not a drinker and in fact the only bottle of wine I have ever bought was this bottle of Randy Rhoads wine not to drink, but just as a memento of the legend Randy Rhoads. His sister runs a shop here in Burbank and I picked it up last year one night. Now it sits on our kitchen counter as a decoration. It was something I saw today.

Day 232 - Little Snowman - 01.08.12

This may be the last Christmas ornament for a while. It is another on the ledge near our front door. It was something I saw today.

Day 231 - Rose ABT Head Shot - 01.07.12

My daughter has some ballet auditions in the next couple weeks. One of them is for the American Ballet Theater (ABT) and they ask for a couple photos. One is of a her doing an arabesque and the other is a head shot of her. We shot those photos this afternoon. I may be partial, but I think her head shot looks beautiful. It was something I saw today.

Day 230 - Burbank Rose Parade Float - 01.06.12

This morning I swung by the ATM. In the parking lot next to the ATM the Burbank Rose Parade float was on display. This is the back of it. It was something I saw today.

Day 229 - Broken Sprinkler - 01.05.12

This morning on the way to work I passed by a park and saw that there was a broken sprinkler shooting water straight up into the air. I quickly hung a left turn into the parking lot, jumped out and snapped a bunch of photos before the sprinkler turned off. In the morning light, the images were very contrasty. I then pumped up the contrast a bit more for a little extra drama. So this was something I saw today.

Day 228 - Costco Shopping Carts - 01.04.12

I drive by Costco on most days on my way to work. I pulled into the parking lot this morning well before they opened and took some photos of the hundred of shopping carts. It was something I saw today.

Day 227 - Bench on a Bridge - 01.03.12

At work there is a building that spans a small man made creek. Under the building there is a bridge that crosses over it as well and there is also this bench on the bridge. It was something I saw today.

Day 226 - Fountain Fish - 01.02.12

This fish is in front of Burbank City Hall. It was something I saw today.

Day 225 - Socky Doll - 01.01.12

My daughter made this socky doll recently. It was on our dining room table and so I took a picture of it his evening. It was something I saw today.
